I'm leaning towards either a vox or an orange amp as I currently have a shitty fender 15g amp and I borrowed those other ones from my friend and enjoyed them. I think what I'm needing most is a distortion, chorus and delay pedal
i'd go with vox, personally. as for distortion, chorus and delay: dist. - zvex box of rock, walrus audio iron horse, carolina guitar company wave cannon chorus - walrus audio julia, ibanez cs9, boss ce-2w delay - old blood noise black fountain, carolina guitar kilobyte, earth quaker dispatch master
For delay, seriously consider the TC Electronic Flashback. That thing offers so much bang for its buck. For OD, the Fulltone Plimsoul is absolutely gorgeous run into a valve amp, but it really depends what sort of drive you're after.
The TC flashback is awesome. You really can mess around with that thing for days finding cool sounds.
What's everybody's favorite fuzz pedal? I'm thinking about getting the Earthquaker Cloven Hoof, but I'm still looking for other options.
Just upgraded my CIJ Jaguar with Seymour Duncan S-Jag 2 neck and bridge pickups. What a difference. Sounds so much better than the stock.
I actually really like the OBN Haunt Fuzz but I think the first pedal I'm gonna buy is the Big Muff deluxe because no lie it was love at first power chord. I had to fiddle with every pedal but I just loved the way the Big Muff sounded. I'm still working on being able to tell exactly what I like tone wise, but that one was immediate. I wanna try to build something versatile but simple for a pedal board + my Telecaster
Any recommended looper and reverb pedals? Need to start investing in those to start playing live in a couple months.
definitely the tc ditto for a looper. there are so many reverbs out there it kinda depends on what you want it for
i'm kinda shooting for a reverb pedal to give my guitar a more atmospheric sound. i might be going for the wrong type of pedal though, haven't had much time research it. I'd appreciate any input.
I don't know your price range but the Strymon Big Sky is awesome. It's not cheap though. BigSky - Multidimensional Reverberator - Reverb Pedal - Strymon I have the TC Electronic Hall of Fame which is a great pedal for $130
I kinda want one of those Hotone Wally loopers. It's got a knob that let's you manually slow down or speed up your loop. and it changes the pitch too. haven't seen that in any other looper and it sounds so cool
@Texas Flood checj out the ZVEX Fuzz Factory if you haven't already. Really solid fuzz pedal. @Jose Hall of Fame is great for reverb. Yeah Electro Harmonix Cathedral is probably my favorite reverb overall. I currently just use a Boss RV-5 though and it gets the job done. As far as loopers go, the Digitech JamMan is where it's at. If you don't require a dedicated looper, the Line 6 DL4 and TC Electronic Flashback X4 are great delays that also have looping capabilities.
My brother bought a Hoof Reaper while we were over in Chicago earlier this year. It's a twin pedal, half of which is the Cloven Hoof. That thing is absolutely insane.
You can download their editor software and fill one of the pedal's slots with your own patch too, which gives it a stunning amount of flexibility.
So myself and my brother took a bit of a pilgrimage to Andertons Music on Saturday. We were in there four 3 hours. My brother tried out four guitars and I tried four pedals. He walked away with a Mexican Nashville Tele and I with a Tone City Tiny Spring (for £50, that thing is an absolute steal). I've also left quite badly hankering for an Amp Tweaker Tight Rock. What an absolute psychopath of a pedal.
