I've been playing for over 12 years but have only owned a no named Chinese guitar and a squire jag (which I've loved). Finally made the leap and upgraded. I was a little hesitant to step away from Fender stuff that I always dreamed of owning, but played a Reverend and decided to jump ship.
Just finished up a build with some circuit revisions, added a bass cut/boost switch to give you the option of the traditional screamer mid hump EQ or a something a little flatter, as well as a clipping mode toggle with symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping options which adds just a bit of harmonic richness to the drive tone in the asymm mode which i really like. Probably going to remove the second boost stage toggle on the final revision since I don’t totally love that sound but otherwise this circuit is just about ready for a little production run in these rad powder coated gorva enclosures with some UV printed graphics. Also gonna integrate the mod switches into the board to tidy up the guts a bit
About a year ago I saw Gibson had an exclusive line of Olive Drab originals. It’s my favorite solid color, especially on Gibson guitars. I immediately knew I had to get one. Sold some builds and booya, Gibson still had these in stock. Ordered straight from the factory. I’m in trouble If they ever sell SG Juniors in Olive Drab.
I haven’t had a chance to really sit down with it yet, but the switches feel niiiiiice and the whole thing feels much more solid. Close! Cioks DC7
Just scored a killer deal on a 2021 SG Junior. Under $1k! Super excited about pairing it with my LP Special. After building and playing numerous guitars over the past couple years I really got find out what I like and want, so I've started selling builds and getting the guitars I want to keep. My olive drab LP Special and this new SG Junior will fulfill my love for p90's. My ownership of Gibson's will likely end there since I love my Limited Edition Epiphone LP Custom with Gibson pickups and a LP Modern I picked up for my wife. I found those way more practical than the full on Gibson versions. I also have a custom tele deluxe with angled humbucker I absolutely love, so I'm keeping that baby. I just have one more strat build that's been in process since Dec. 2021 and it'll probably be the most special one to me when it's done. Just gotta find the right neck for it. Turns out I don't care for offset guitars haha. Every Jazzmaster/Jaguar I've owned felt too big for me. I'm not a small guy either. I'm over 6'0'' tall with long arms and hands. IDK what it is about JMs/Jaguars, but they just didn't work for me as much as I wanted them to. I feel like i'm reaching too far on JM's. Bums me out because I wanted to love them and I think they are the coolest looking out of all Fenders.
Oh yeah, this triggered a memory of seeing a band using it for that purpose. Just had to dig to find what their name was, but they were called Former Thieves, and I saw them open for The Chariot. I must admit, I got one because I wish I were Bill Frisell.
https://reverb.com/item/58769120-or...built-by-doug-campbell-owned-by-misha-mansoor Misha from periphery is selling his Blackmachine B2. Even with the artist “premium” the price isn’t to bad considering some people have paid closer to $20k for one.
I'm using the Delta King 10 as my main amp. Have for awhile now. Love the amp. Really want to get the 8 and the 12 haha. Love the newer Supro amps.
I was debating between the 10 and the 12. Ended up with the 12 because It was a used model and same price as a new 10 with my trade-in. The 10 was the tweed version though and I REALLY wanted that just for the looks haha. The black/cream looks rad though. They're very cool and extremely versatile tube amps. I'm actually pretty amazed by how versatile they are. They give you everything from bone dry cleans for pedals, tube breakup for that sweet garage rock/blues rock tone, and get dirty enough for stuff like punk and pop punk. Frank Iero actually turned me onto these amps since he started using them for the MCR reunion.
For same price it's a no-brainer! I went with 10 because I wanted lower watt for more bedroom playing. Absolutely agree though, super clean for pedals or dirty for rock. It's a cool amp. I didn't know Frank Iero used them, that's cool!
Treated myself to a new pedal. I'll let you guess which one. Also, I think I know I'm getting old now. I'm getting such GAS for classic LP style guitars. Saw an advert for a Maybach Lester this week and quickly threw my wallet out of the window. Feels like such a switch, as I used to really dislike LP types...
