Anyone else pick up any of the Bias software while it's been on sale over Christmas? I already had Bias Amp, but I've added Bias FX 2 to the mix now as well. Really impressed. I'm only really using it when jamming along with stuff, but if I ever get around to actually tracking anything myself, it sounds mighty.
I played it for about an hour last night and it sounded ok so far. I'll admit it doesnt sound AS good as my Providence Stampede but I still need to find that sweet spot. When I used it with my bass, it was just for pure noise/chaos, so I had the drive set to max and just let it rip.
Still hunting for a drive to complete my gain setup. Rat didn't do it, was too close to SS/BS mini without the perks. Torn between Greer Lightspeed and Benson Preamp. The Hudson Broadcaster also interests me...decisions..
Pairing overdrive to amp is important. I use a bluesbreaker and a bd2 with my princeton. Now Im just keen on getting an eq to boost mids if I want.
What sort of things are you aiming for? The Rat seems very different in application than the Greer or Benson. I'm a big fan of the Fultone Plimsoul, which covers a huge amount of ground (can go light, right through to a very heavy saturated tone). If you're looking for something more overdrive based (or something where the description blathers on about transparency), then a Zendrive or some sort of Klon (or clone of) might be worth a crack?
Yeah, the Rat was an impulse buy to try out and I ended up returning it. Didn't make sense at all. I've been looking at Klon's a bit too, the KTR really interests me. I've got a low/medium drive that I currently set to light gain for a barely breaking up sound, then a SS/BS mini for medium/heavy gain. Really want something that medium/can go light that pairs well with others. The few drives I've tested haven't really played nice with other pedals it felt. KTR, Greer and Benson are the ones that feel like they'd get me there. May go to Chicago Music Exchange and dick around with a few for a bit. I'll look into those you mention though, haven't seen too much on them. Thanks!
Wampler Tumnus is their version of the Klon and seems pretty great, while being a lot cheaper than the KTR versions (at least over here!). Also in a mini pedal format, which is handy.
Same. Thing is, I already have the Plimsoul and a Friday Club Green Menace (TS Clone, slightly hot), alongside a home built Zen Drive clone. It's hard to justify spending £100+ on another light overdrive that I'll just stack with others to make a big gainy soup.
The Benson Preamp with gain at 40% into my SS/BS Mini with gain at 60% is absolutely nuts. Love the sound. I also finally messed around with the Katana's amp modeling and the results have been quite satisfying.
I never buy guitars without playing them or unless I’m building one. I wanted a cheap Stratocaster body to put some parts in that my uncle gave me, so I do research and found a new fiesta red squire that got really great reviews regarding the necks. So, I buy a guitar off Reverb for the first time ever. FedEx loses it and I have them start an investigation. Two weeks later they get back saying they lost it. I inform the seller. The seller says they had insurance on it and that they would send me a replacement guitar. They file a claim and collect insurance money, I get refunded from initial purchase via reverb and I get a free guitar. It just arrived today. That was my day.
anyone have any multi-guitar stand/rack recommendations? I have a cheap fold-out one but I have two Explorers and they don't exactly fit too comfortably into the stand ha. Then again I guess that'll be true for any rack out there.
i have one of these Hercules GS432B Tri Stand Guitar Standhttps://www.googleadservices.com/pa...jA9svtxt_oAhURSK0KHTPdBBwQ9aACegQIDRA9&adurl=
oh nice. i've thought about something similar to that that i've seen online before. thanks for the rec!
Hercules GS525B 5-Guitar Display Stand I use one of those for mine. I think you can buy additional neck holders if you have more guitars too. Only thing is that I'm not sure how an explorer would sit and if the rear bout is wide enough to sit across the two rails.
Definitely. I think the Squier Classic Vibe P-Bass is the best value you can get. Most of the Classic Vibes I’ve played are on par with Fender MIMs.
The more research I'm doing, the more I'm leaning towards this. Mainly want something to learn on and use for home recording. The CV 70s P looks appealing. Reviews look good.
oh shit dude I’ve pined over those since forever. did you do it? and may I ask what kind of deal you’ve found?
