I have a couple shirts from them and i must say they are some super high quality items (for the price you would hope so) i feel like they will probably last forever. Super Sturdy and comfortable.

 

Best of 2021 so far for me and it's not even really close.

 

the giants were dope, Barry put in a great Barry performance, it was very dark.

Lowery pulled in Nicholas Bateman to help with VFX editing during quarantine, Bateman’s debut film he’s been working on for 5+ years comes out next Feb and should please fans of this movie.

im not smart and forgot we were already in the year of our lord 2021.

 

Jesus Christ I did too, but when I double checked on YouTube’s rental i only saw a trailer but no rental option so it confused me further

 

Very glad I saw this in a theater. Visually stunning. Beautifully shot. I actually love all the meandering shots like when he first leaves for his journey on horseback. Definitely will need to watch again with subs on at home though.

I’m so glad I finally watched Barry Lyndon this year before seeing this, seems like a pretty heavy influence.

This was good. I am really surprised a movie like this got a wide release.

 

Lowery always manages to push the boundaries with studio films to the point of just far enough to be challenging but not too far to not get wide release

 

The film looks really good except for the fox that looked like it came from the Car Fax commercials.

There were moments where the fox didn’t look as good but overall the fox looked pretty good

 

I do not understand how this movie only cost $15 million

 

I mean outside of the CGI it’s basically Dev in the woods?

 

According to this article here, it sounds like he took the year delay and not only re-edited the film, but went back and massaged the special effects and even did more VFX shots with a small crew -->

"Yet after Weta completed its work, Lowery still wasn’t finished with the VFX. When A24 was forced to postpone the release during last year’s pandemic, the director continued to fine-tune his edit, making the film longer, and extending a few VFX shots. He hired director and VFX supervisor Nicholas Bateman (“The Wanting Mare”), who massaged 25 shots while adding an additional 60 with a team of five artists at his Maere Studios. They upped their game with the creation of 3D landscapes and atmospherics to expand the scope of the the giant sequence, a puppet show, and a hallucinatory glimpse of Alicia Vikander (who plays dual roles)."

This was a beautiful movie although most of it didn’t make much sense to me. Fortunately, my wife is very familiar with the source material so after the movie she gave me some more info. If she didn’t tell me, I would have had no idea that King Arthur and Merlin were in the movie haha. I went into this completely blind. Didn’t even see a trailer, I don’t think. But yeah I thought it was a very entertaining and beautifully shot movie.

 

I really need to make time to go see this.
