Listening to it yesterday. I was a very urrrggh. I lot of songs Sounding like they were jumping off the back of a few pop songs that were popular in last 18months

 

We're gonna do this "where are the guitars" argument here, too?

The instruments are very much there in the songs.

 

I'm not going to pretend Dirty Work didn't have songs that were attempting to aim at being hit singles (I Feel Like Dancin' being the obvious example), but I've voiced my love for the majority of the album enough haha

 

I'm with you, this album is the worst

 

Literally every single song except "Life of the Party" starts with a prominent guitar or bass.

 

Did anyone actually say anything about guitars before OR was it just a pre emptive strike from the people who like LYR

 

Someone actually said something about guitars.

 

I like how much you can hear the backing vocals on Dirty Laundry

 

For the record, I'm absolutely fine with anyone not liking this album, even if they don't like it because they don't want ATL to have a pop sound. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

I just don't like when people say it's "generic" because that's a lazy way of insulting pop music (Just say you don't like pop), and I don't like when people try to say they don't use instruments when instruments are clearly being used predominantly.

 

I listened for the first time in awhile this morning and I forgot that it was good

I guess it's just not very memorable for me but I really enjoy it when I do listen. Not sure if that makes sense lol

 

I haven't been listening to it a lot lately just because this really isn't a winter record. This is totally a late night summer album

Also it would be ironic for people to be upset for people not liking the album on a thread entirely based on people’s opinions and rankings

I for one would like a song by ATL If was on xylophone. Juuuust not liking LYR after 4 listens so far. Not my thing. Still prefer it over 95% of bands

 

Well now I just want an ATL xylophone song.

 

Oh, I like pop. Just not ATL pop, haha. Okay I'm done.
