DEEPLY HUMANE AND THOUGHTFUL. I'm sorry, I've only ever watched one show in my life that's blown me away by its humanity. That is, Rectify. Nothing else, not The Good Place. Which I love, but it's not real. I had to comment.
To be clear, "realistic" and "humane" are not the same thing, and I didn't intend to suggest they were.
I just meant to say I don't care as much about the characters on The Good Place because they're not realistic. Sorry for sidetracking the thread. But seriously, Rectify is the most underrated, compassionate and introspective show ever.
just finished my first rewatch of this and somehow enjoyed it even more. as someone who is terrified of death, the finale is kind of reassuring while also emotionally devastating for me. I wish there was more time spent in the actual good place, especially because I was fascinated by the whole "too much of a good thing is a bad thing" concept and it seemed like the whole problem (and their solution) was a little rushed. but the finale is just so so so good. definitely one of my favorite series finales.
