I'd be fine with any combination of either shows winning things but it's not like Schitts Creek didn't deserve it.
I haven't seen the final season but I'd be shocked if it's far and away the greatest season of television ever. I don't think it should've won every category unless that was the statement being made.
kind of a dumb way to think about it. it’s more “was eugene levy better than the other nominees?” probably. “was catherine o’hara?” probably. we’re the writers, supporting cast, etc etc? probably. overall it adds up but looking category by category, there’s nothing really there where it feels like an unearned win. at all. at best it’s a 50/50 tossup for one of the seven wins.
also i would be pretty surprised to hear from anyone here or elsewhere that didn’t think the final season of the good place was the worst season
Interesting, maybe it's recency bias but I thought season 4 was better than season 1. But season 2 will always be my favorite
I haven't seen Schitt's Creek but I don't like people talking shit (lolol) about The Good Place's last season But mostly I just wanted to say Schitt and shit in the same sentence
SC is fine, it’s saccharine to me though. The actors are good and the parts are often funny but i think it’s overrated. Like an 7/10. Good Place is much better.
Avoided this thread because I was so behind, but now that it's over I can say this might be the most humane, deeply thoughtful show I've ever seen.
As for the Emmys, at least it got the nom. Parks was horribly overlooked for anything but Amy's performance. Sometimes the competition is tough. The Office probably should have won more, but it was up against 30 Rock.
