They said they had the best cameo ever this season, right? Do we know if that was Timothy or is there another huge surprise for the finale?
REAL ONES KNOW it's either this or new girl, which also got bad. sitcoms shouldn't run longer than four seasons.
I thought that was referring to lisa kudrow lol but I am hoping/betting there will be another big one in the finale
Jameela Jamil Teases ‘Cameo Of All Cameos’ in ‘Good Place’ Series Finale – Watch Here! Unless she meant Pheebs we're getting another one
Yeessss! I couldn’t remember if the quote specified that it was in the finale or not. That definitely makes me think someone is god and we’re going to lose it.
The specific quote makes me think it’s a huge star and not necessarily someone who’s a meme on the show. Like Bortles would be a very funny joke but I can’t imagine it making Jameela nervous.
I think it's very possible there is a higher being than the version of the afterlife shown in this series. Like, this isn't THE afterlife. Just the afterlife for humans. It was established in season 1 that animals don't enter this afterlife, and if this was an all-inclusive afterlife, shouldn't there be aliens, or pre-homo-sapien life? Which, to me, implies there are more afterlife systems, or some bigger scheme of existence that this series doesn't explore.
"They exist within the NBC family but that's all I'm going to say." I will absolutely lose my shit if we see Leslie Knope in The Good Place haha
Wait. We only know that no *human* has gone to the good place in the last 400 years Do you know what that means?!! Lil Sebastian is in the good place
Lol yesss that was my second guess if we were to get a Parks cameo that wasn't Leslie Also bear in mind that time works differently in The Good Place so we may get a flash forward several hundred years in the future, so anything is fair game
I like how they've stayed away from the idea of having a creator and an origin of everything, it just kind of exists and this is how they've done it. It feels much more fallible and human.
As someone who was raised in/brainwashed in a Catholic household, does anyone else hope there just isn't an afterlife (IRL) at all because the concept of Hell is so scary? I'd wayy rather cease to exist than have that be a risk. It's like a weight off my shoulders to imagine that scenario. I feel like my life on Earth is enough
For me the idea of just losing my consciousness forever doesn't really process to me, so I kinda hope/assume there's something else, but the traditional idea of heaven/hell never really made sense to me either, for reasons tackled in this show.
If there were people good enough to get into heaven, they would fight to free people suffering in hell. So that possibility never tracked for me. Its either nothing or reincarnation, probably both. Consciousness and free will and time are all illusions anyway. Ya'll should check out the Death thread.
not to be a bummer but for me the idea of eternity is extremely anxiety inducing, and like do I have my anxious brain in heaven, so the idea of the finality of death is the only thing I can process is I guess the best way to phrase it
Yep. And if I don’t have the same experience that I’ve had on earth for my entire life, am I really me? Basically everything involving death and eternity petrifies me, but no consciousness is marginally less terrifying than eternity doing anything.
I could be 100% and completely wrong, but last week they referred to The Bad Place as "Hell" and I was kinda surprised. I was under the (possibly wrong) assumption that they haven't ever used "heaven" or "hell" but rather just the good and bad places
This just makes you sound like a fool who has never seen 30 Rock because it absolutely cares about the emotional connection/resonance of its character. There are so many sentimental moments throughout the show. Those other shows just throw it in your face way more
I mean, i have seen 30 Rock and i dont care emotionally about any of them like i do the other shows i mentioned so lol
there are sentimental moments sure, but outside of the Lemon most of the characters aren't really relateable. Where there are aspects of pretty much everyone on B99/Good Place/Parks and Rec that I can relate to. So I think the sentimental moments fall a bit flatter. I still greatly enjoy Tracy and Jack and Jenna and Kenneth... I just didn't care about them that much. The enjoyment came from the ridiculous things they did.
