Damn, I might need to do a Parks rewatch. Been a few years now

  2. I've never finished the final season, so I should probably rewatch everything too. The last episode I remember was the bottle one with only Leslie and Ron.

I stand by all I said! I don't appreciate Jason slander but also I agree with a general disdain towards the dumb guy archetypes and other one dimensional characters.

Jason very much falls into that category in a lot of episodes, but he has some of the best moments of the series because his emotional intelligence is so so high and that contrast really elevates the character.

Tahani and Jason are both weak characters but they’ve have good lines and important roles at times on the show. The show is still excellent in spite of them being underwritten.

The last season or two ruined P&R for me, I can’t look past the super cloying politics of it.

I could never get into P&R. Chris Pratt being in it puts me off giving it another go now too.

  6. Yeah him and Ansari too.

Seasons 2-4 of Parks and Rec are great, I enjoyed the other seasons but it definitely started to decline

I don't think most shows should go beyond 5 seasons, especially comedies. The characters started wearing pretty thin by the end

the first half of the office is definitely better, but the second half is so much worse that i think i probably agree P&R is "better" but not anywhere near that much better

I agree Parks is better than the office but I actually still enjoy the office a lot up until season 8

I love both but The Office has way more emotional moments that actually connect with me. Parks has like maybe three or so.

While I’ve been less interested in this season I loved these last two eps.

This episode had everything. Great concept, and twist on the final good place imo. Really felt like they were essentially describing acceptance in your mortality. The door represents all our ways in which we have to accept death eventually, and nobody even these characters know what lies next.

annnnnd then there were the gags which were probably the best of the series imo.

Lisa killed it. Oh look there’s math on my shirt.
Michael saying oh baby at the Taco Bell burrito appearing in his hand.

chidi’s stole the ep. Is she the reason you were bullied so much in school!? (Giddily) She’s one of them :-)

Yeah nobody used to have anything negative to say about Parks here and I much preferred that lol

That's still the best show Schur has been involved with and I don't think it will ever be topped honestly

  24. Idk, I've always been vocal about not liking everything from P&R even back on ap.net. It shouldn't come off as a shock.

I should really go back to it and finish it, then binge The Good Place all over again once the finale airs.

P&R also suffers from a bunch of cast members being awful which taints it, and outside of Rob Lowe none of that was known when it aired. Add that to some major political jokes and storylines that just don’t land at all anymore and I can see a lot of reasons why opinions have shifted in recent years.
