Lots of great gags and one-liners this season, though. Jason has been too perfect

 

I’ve actually never been a big fan of Jason and he’s only gotten more grating to me over the years, haha

Andy Dwyer is probably my favorite character Schur has created, next to Ron Swanson. Andy Bernard sucks tho

Calling Andy Dwyer the weakest in P&R is insane. Anne, Tom, and April are all pretty objectively worse

 

I think April could be up for debate for some, but yeah, absolutely better than Tom or Anne

 

I really dont like the "look how dumb this guy is" bit.

 

It’s not about simply being dumb, the creative and funny part is *how* he’s dumb

 

Yeah, a lot of that just falls flat to me and undermines the depth of the character.

 

I am also threatened by how handsome Chris Pratt is but I'm not gonna take it out on Andy Dwyer.

Chris Pratt loving cops makes me love Andy less, plus he was such a dick to Anne Perkins

 

Hot Take: Tahani is a more boring character than Jason imo.

Jason always has really funny lines when he talks about his experience on earth and all the stupid shit he gets into, and for all the stupid dumb guy shtick, does have a genuine emotional presence and personality.

Tahani just repeats the same celeb name-dropping joke 10 times each episode, which is a shame, cause Jameela demonstrates so much depth as an actress, when the show decides to give it to her (that scene in S3 where Tahani reconciles with Kamila was great).

Michael, Eleanor, & Chidi all feel like real people to me (although Chidi was way too flanderized for the first half of season 4)

 

I’m afraid the finale is gonna make me weep

Jason has more emotional depth than basically the rest of the cast.

There are a lot of one dimensional Schur characters, its kind of his shtick, why I can't get into parks n rec. But Jason has much more to offer than most.

 

No April Ludgate slander allowed on my watch, thank you

 

I will say, as much as I love them as individual characters, the Eleanor-Chidi romance is definitely the weakest part of the show. They have a cool, quirky dynamic, but the show never focuses on that aspect of the story long enough to get me emotionally invested.

 

Appreciate you trying to take some heat off me but you may be overcompensating a bit.
