Some funny lines as usual but wasn't really a fan of some of the writing. A bit too much blunt social commentary without any subtlety like "Humans suck!" or bad stand up jokes like the baby boomer one.
I thought this last episode was one of the funniest, definitely the funniest of this season. I understand the desire for the plot to be killer since it has been killer in the past but I guess I’m also more okay with episodes that are just funny and don’t move the plot along as much. I would be fine with tons of those episodes in fact, if it meant having this show stretched out more hah
Also off topic but fwiw I’m pleasantly surprised by the Instagram caption in this article. She has been criticized for the way she has co opted the body positive movement without regard to fat acceptance whatsoever. I’m really glad that she’s learned from these critiques and gives credence and spotlight to the fat acceptance movement including linking resources for people.
It makes sense to me that it feels like the plot is going nowhere. So is the experiment. I think that’s actually the point.
Honestly I always enjoy the ride so much for this show I'm not really paying attention to overall plot but I get that not everyone's like that
I mean, I felt like the first half of S3 was kinda the same deal, a bunch of “subplots” that set up the back half of the season. I get that it’s the final season and maybe people expected more, but I think it’s been moving along fine so far. Based on that description for next week I’d say the setup is done and things are really gonna start spiraling
Brent is almost ruining the season for me. I was over him the second he came on the show and nothing has changed to make me see the value of his character. He just sucks unequivocally and is taking so much focus from the people I care about. And I feel like the ending was supposed to be some major revelation but we’ve known about the intentional improvement over good versus evil angle for forever so it just fell flat. I also agree that having so much filler or setup to the real endgame is kind of a shame. If this was just another season I might be fine with spinning wheels, but this is the last time we’ll ever see these characters and I want to make it count.
gotta echo all of the complaints about the plot. the show is just as funny as ever, but I don't mind find myself as excited for new episodes as I once was.
Yeah it's been funny enough, but it feels like a season full of filler which shouldn't really be in a planned final season imo
Wow, this is anxiety-inducing as hell Also Brent getting stuck in a sinkhole is a good callback to season 1.
remember Solange in that elevator she was saying no fair I wanted to push that button who's a girl got to fork for an oops my bad I was born in a swimming pool some of us are under 5 foot ten but other than that it's perfect like Facebook or America Chidi is a kind and brilliant person with a caboose you can bounce a quarter off I know I've done it Brent is the opposite of a box of donuts I know why I'm in hell I drank so much almond milk, I knew the environmental impact I don't think that tracks, shut up what do you know, literally everything omg at Eleanor's maniacal laugh
Okay, now we're getting somewhere. This was a great one. I love being back to having absolutely no idea where the show is going next Eleanor's reaction to them figuring out the secret was incredible too, it was word-for-word Michael's dialogue from the S1 episode and she nailed all his mannerisms/inflections
Series Finale is a 90-minute special, get pumped NBC Announces Midseason Game Plan: XL Good Place Finale, Plus Manifest, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and More
I read it wrong, lol. It's a half hour episode and then an hour like, after party thing a special 90-minute farewell that will include both the final episode and a Meyers-hosted post-show featuring the entire cast.
