Finally watched Janet(s) Forkin' great episode. Chidi-Janet was such a babe, as was Eleanor-Janet, and Tahani-Janet, and Jason-Janet Give D'Arcy an emmy already please. Can't wait to see where this goes
finished the first season of this last night and what a delight. my partner hates Jason so completely. fun to put faces to voices from podcasts too. good luck at making me hate a Ted Danson character though, season two.
i have been thinking about the “yadda yadda yadda, i learned my entire vocabulary from Seinfeld, yadda yadda yadda” bit all week and chuckling internally
Jason is very funny ("instead of killer whales, they killed a whale" is my second favorite killer whale joke ever made), but he's definitely almost only ever comic relief and sometimes feels like a vehicle for throwaway jokes, so i get it. Personally I think the show benefits from having an abject dumbass in the main group of characters (like Andy on Parks & Rec), but i get how it can be annoying for a show that's so plot-driven.
When Jason emotionally connects with someone it’s so pure and feels like it means so much, he’s done that’s with Eleanor and Janet and my favorite with Tahani when he tells her to be nicer to herself. Dudes emotional intelligence is incredible and whenever they get off the easy jokes he can deliver some beautiful moments
Any time I see Jason referenced in this thread, I think they're talking about @Jason Tate for a split second and get really confused :P
I don't have the answers for you friend, I am sorry. But I could understand why someone wouldn't like Jason. The "unbelievably (literally) dumb" character is always my least favorite. It's easy and usually just elicits eyerolls from me, but I feel like Manny plays him with enough likability where it's hard to be mad about it, and a lot of the jokes are so out there but somehow they find a way to back them up
