This show's main premise is surprisingly similar to that one sentence synopsis you just gave Steven Universe.
Nathan For You. Atlanta. Search Party. Maisel. Handmaid’s Tale. Fargo. Americans. Veep. Do I need to keep going?
The Americans is kind of bad now. Atlanta hasn't been on for almost 2 years (though it is coming back soon to be fair). Fargo Season 3 was inconsistent. Veep is obviously one of the best comedies ever and is always incredibly funny but I think this series feels more vital than Veep does right now. I would grant you Atlanta (when it comes back) and maybe Nathan For You (which i like but don't love but I know many people love). I haven't seen Maisel or Search Party but I would put this over the others which i have seen right now. My point was, it's in the conversation
It’s not in any conversation as “best show on TV.” I can get to ten before even mentioning it. Great two seasons; the hyperbole is embarrassing. Needs to keep going, and it can at least pass The Office with two more good seasons. There’s incredible TV out there that people should be watching and no one needs to ruin it with going overboard.
Maybe why I do connect with this so much, besides the great existential stuff. But SU is a whole other level, this is still a sitcom, although it transcends the sitcom limits very often.
Why do you do this? Many places have called it one of the top shows on TV in 2017. I don't get why you have to come into threads of things people like and then say they're not that good. https://www.avclub.com/the-a-v-club-s-20-best-tv-shows-of-2017-1821063892 (#1) http://uproxx.com/sepinwall/best-tv-shows-of-2017-ranked/3/ (#4) The 25 Best TV Shows of 2017 - Best New TV Shows to Watch in 2017 (#4) http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/best-tv-shows-2017/stranger-things-2 (#6) These are the 18 best TV shows airing new episodes right now (#10) The 20 best TV shows of 2017 The Best TV Shows of 2017 (#12) It's in the conversation.
It’s one of the better shows of 2017. It’s in my list of favorites for the year. I like the show. Your hyperbole is over the top. It’s not the best on tv by any imagination. Watch more TV and don’t say ridiculous things if you can’t back it up or don’t wanna make the case. I didn’t say it’s “not that good” I said it’s not the best show on tv. It’s not.
I'm very glad that one person on the internet being able to count to 10 shows they like more isn't a determinant of whether a show is good or not.
This was not the direction I was expecting them to go at all, I actually thought I called it when early on Maya Rudolph said they would get their own Middle Place like Mindy St. Clair. I'm not sure if I'd prefer if they're in a big simulation or if they're literally redoing their live again though. It could be very intriguing seeing them just living their lives and eventually meeting each other, with Michael and Janet meddling and manipulating stuff. This show is so incredible. Can't believe it's gonna be like another year now. It's absolutely not better than Parks & Rec though
"It's one of the best shows of the year. It was one of my favorites of the year. But it's not in the conversation for the best show on television right now" Like, what? How can something be one of the best shows of the year but not even be in the conversation for the best show on television. I don't actually understand that logic at all and it just seems like you're arguing for the sake of arguing.
Actress who played Tahani said that it will be back in the fall, so it's only probably like 8-9 months to wait? Not too bad. But I will be getting impatient by the summer for sure.
Lol its a good show and there are a lot of good shows currently airing. Who cares if someone thinks its the best show currently on tv, it's subjective, and pretending otherwise only serves your ego. I think it's more important for us to put our heads together and figure out the obviously super complex metaphor/analogy/otherwordmeaningwordiwouldvelearnedifihadfinishedhighschool of the burrito. What does it mean? Does it represent something about layers, ala shrek? Or is it a taco bell burritio? Would a taco bell burritio be in the good place or the bad place or the real good place? Oh fork, wrong thread sorry
It's a fun show with a terrific cast. It's comedic without being depressing, it's self inspection without guilt. And those things make it unlike almost every other bit of media we're exposed to at the moment; a departure from cynicism, from the emotional exhaustion of only getting to laugh at what would otherwise make us sad, and a break from a world that is constantly making us feel awful about ourselves. I couldn't regard it as the best show on tv though. I don't think it's made enough of its point yet.
steven universe isn't aired enough right now for me to call it better but of course that show always hits every mark CEG has had some of its worst episodes in the last few so i think this surpassed that too
I consider The Good Place the best show currently airing. It continually surprises me and I find myself loving every direction they decide to go.
