The newest show from Michael Schur (The Office, Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) coming to NBC on Thursdays at 8:30 this fall NBC's new comedy The Good Place follows Eleanor Shellstrop and her mentor as she tries to become a better person in the afterlife. starring Kristen Bell and Ted Danson
Looks like a mix of Parks and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, so in other words it has fucking massive potential. Love the cast, love everything Schur makes, and he's also carrying over a ton of Parks writers apparently (I know for a fact Megan Amram and Joe Mande are writing for this at least)
They're already figuring out how they can randomly shuffle around the timeslot three times within the next 9 months and then cancel it because "nobody watched it."
This does look good, and has an impeccable pedigree, but I don't know if I can justify watching it to myself, since it's airing on NBC. And I have not forgiven and will never forgive them for Hannibal. Haven't watched anything on the channel since then. Not that there's anything worth watching on NBC these days anyway. Channel's as much of a wasteland as CBS now.
Kristen Bell and Ted Danson are of course perfect your favorite book is Kendall Jenner's Instagram feed how'd you know that it's all you talk about you're the most selfish person I know someone hasn't seen Kendall's Instagram
Even though the premise is super out there this was still even weirder than I thought it would be. Had lots of laughs though, and Kristen Bell is great. The girl with the British accent seems like she'll be funny too Definitely doesn't seem like an ensemble show like Schur's other stuff though
Enjoyed this a lot. Much weirder/quirkier than I thought it would be thought. I'm worried this has all the makings of a "brilliant but canceled" show.
Yeah I fucking loved this! New favorite show and can see Danson and Bell getting award noms for this. Not sure how many people here actually watched it(likely not many) but this reminds me a lot of Eureka but less Sci-fi-y.
Thought this was great, love how it is high on laughs but also hinting at revealing a darker back story and secrets to push things along. Definitely think The note was written by the silent Buddhist. And loved that Ariana Grande bit.
This will probably be way off and look ridiculous when we look back in this thread during future seasons but I feel like it could have been that human computer girl that wrote the note. She's the only one besides Chidi (?) that knows the truth
