Who knows if there is more to his relationship with his bandmates but I hope he gets an opportunity to rejoin the band at some point in the future. He seemed really genuine and remorseful in his apology. I would personally rather have an ally than an enemy.
No, hopefully he gets no platform whatsoever. Another one that was only sorry because he was called out. The band at first only retweeted his response on twitter and left it at that, until they received even further backlash. He was called out for it 5 years ago and they swept it under the rug. The lead singer of Culture Abuse also came forward and said their drummer made disparaging remarks about him having cerebral palsy. Bad band is bad. Fade back out please TGI.
I don't know if he was only doing this because he got called out but let's say that he did, shouldn't he have the chance to change? Can't we hold him to a standard and see if he puts his money, support, and time behind the cause of increased equality?
He can do that privately, without fame and notoriety if he genuinely is trying to be a different person. It’s not our job to parent a fully grown racist adult.
