Bump to mention the test press raffle we have featuring a split with Gates and Matt Pryor. We also got test presses from Gatsbys American Dream up for grabs. Tomorrow is the last day to get tickets. All proceeds go to communitybailfunds.com. Tickets can be grabbed at overduecollection.com
Did anyone go to that tour with him and Dan Andriano? Matt's daughter was the opener and she legitimately fucking killed and probably got the biggest response from the crowd the entire night. He also brought her out for a beautiful cover of "Twilight" by Elliott Smith.
Wow October is going so hard with the live streams. Can't go to all of them but I won't miss this one.
I love this band's entire catalog more and more as the years pass, and love that they went the route of releasing polarizing records after Something To Write Home About. Also, Problems does not get enough credit for being the masterpiece that I think it is. To produce so much quality music throughout a 25 year span (6 full lengths, 4 EP's, countless b-sides and rarities), even considering all the hiatuses and what not, it is outstanding. Their music isn't without flaw, but that is among my favorite qualities about them. I think their next move should be releasing a 2nd Eudora, one that compiled their best b-sides and unreleased material from On A Wire and onward, as long as they can get rights to the songs. Then that gives them something to go on tour for until they can produce more new music. It is going to be hard to top Kicker and Problems, so they should take their time.
Over time I grew to really appreciate There Are Rules it has such interesting song writing. Was disappointed Problems wasn't a bit more weird but it was still great.
“Problems” was one of my most played albums last year and it’s still in frequent rotation. Probably the most I’ve enjoyed a scene “come back” album that’s just hit the exact spot I wanted it to.
If ya'll are on Matt Pryor's patreon, he's been releasing new episodes his podcast Nothing To Write Home About. Only two so far, but I've forgotten how much I missed it. He's done quarantine check with Chris from Saves, and then a post-crash checkup with Dashboard.

I made a Spotify playlist for the 25th Anniversary Show setlist: The Get Up Kids: 25th Anniversary Show Setlist, a playlist by Christopher Torres on Spotify Also, they literally played at least one track from each release among... Woodson EP Four Minute Mile Red Letter Day EP Something To Write Home About Eudora On A Wire Guilt Show Simple Science EP There Are Rules Kicker EP Problems Of course, some songs appear on more than one release, but nevertheless, long live the greatness of The Get Up Kids!!!!
Jumping from the Dashboard stream to this stream tonight is one of the best decisions I've made in this pandemic.
Well damn. What’s on now? I feel like we need a Death Cab livestream or something now that TGUK one is over
Kevin Devine ended up going live on Instagram and his set just wrapped up. All love songs. A delightful Sunday surprise.
I would not be surprised if The Get Up Kids' "The Advocate" was written about Chris Conley, considering the friendship between him and Matt Pryor. The Get Up Kids' may not have had the success of some of their contemporaries within their scene, but at least they've managed to stay out of trouble. It probably helped that Matt became a family man so early on in the band's career. Considering how they cut off any association with James Dewees, I could only imagine what Pryor is going through right now with Conley.
