Yup. Have Guilt Show waiting on me at the house for when I get back on Saturday. Along with a few other records.
Downwrite is awesome and I highly recommend it. For my birthday a couple years ago, my friends actually had Matt cover one of my favorite songs for me, and it's the coolest thing.
"Washington Square Park" by the Wonder Years. It's especially cool because I know they're big TGUK fans as well.
I was listening to Four Minute Mile for the first time and don't know how I feel beyond I like it. At times I'm like "this is a better version of through being cool" and at other times I'm like "the pop punk aspects are kinda boring" and then some song would come on that reminds me of sunny day real estate and would blow me away. Weird album tbh gonna give it some repeat listens
Yeah I read it cost like 4k to record and I'm like "then why is it lofi as hell in places?" People complain about the production on like full collapse or Deja but goddamn it's just a blur here. Still, good songwriting besides the pop punk parts that I'm sure have more to do w them being ripped off a ton
The muddy production works for some of the bands they cropped up with like the promise ring or even Mineral, sometimes, but defffff not them. Yeah, that's probably it, that they've been ripped off. You've listened to something to write home about? That perfected the genre just about.
