Yeah naming an Asian character “Phuc” as a joke is pretty yikes

yeah there were several things in bad taste. my theater seemed to enjoy the c-bombs dropped everywhere more than the racist stuff

    Yeah. It’s definitely problematic.

Farrell, Grant, and Hunnam were all pretty great. The rest were under utilized and the dude from Succession was meh.

Bits of the movie were really fun but pacing is off and there’s a lot to take in. Nowhere as good as his older stuff but still ok.

    run away with me Platinum

the Miramax logo at the beginning was jarring and the racism homophobia and depiction of the opioid crisis was definitely some boomer Tory nonsense as was Mickey's use of gentrification to retire with $400 million
the villain being an effete Jew and the only female character almost being sexually assaulted as collateral was also dated and yikes
Charlie Hunnam, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant were great though
Charlie's awful beard was okay once I realized it made him more menacing, and between this and The Kingsmen I'm wondering if polished British gangsters are real thing haha
and the way the movie flowed and all tied together was great fun
wish the whole movie could be the Shimmy Shimmy Ya sequence

This was decent enough. Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant were great.

Yeah he was also good. Especially since he wasn’t trying to do an American accent.

Always do the right thing. Supporter

Ritchie’s made better versions of this, and also made a lot worse than this. Enjoyable enough even if it was cavalier with its racism

The movie was fine, but it reminded me how much I like Charlie Hunnam, I wish he was in more stuff.

this is like Tarantino levels of "lets shoe-horn in an edgy word as many times as possible, because that's how these characters would really talk.":

I had fun with this one, definitely his best in a while. Though I agree that there are many cringey moments, such as the "Phuc" jokes. Jeremy Strong was distracting. Or maybe it's just that I couldn't see him and McConaughey together on screen and not think of Serenity.

I’m an hour or so in. I don’t like this very much so far. Weird pacing. Don’t like what Jeremy Strong is doing

Just rewatched some of the scenes with Farrell the other night. Fun stuff. The movie overall is a mess but I enjoyed it, in a similar sense to Den of Thieves or Triple Frontier in past years

It was fun but I hate Jeremy Strong in everything I’ve seen him in besides succession.

This was the only thing I didn’t like him in. It’s also just not a very good movie
