Speaking of The Gay Blades, what the fuck is going on with them? ha.

They were supposed to release a new album, Bastards, years ago. Never happened. They were also going to release Savages on vinyl a few years back. They even released a test pressing of that, so where is it?

 

I tweeted "are y'all alive" at them like two months ago, and they liked the tweet a few weeks ago, but didn't respond or anything. They also liked a tweet from someone else asking about Bastards, so... who knows. haha

 

That was probably me haha. I mention Savages, too, I think.

 

I wish they were more active. The one new song from Bastards that they played live (Seven Sins, maybe?) sounded amazing.

 

This is so great. "Buried Alive" is killer.

It's so good, the back-middle section of the album is really slow paced but in a way that is so captivating and Ian has always managed to be. Immediately pre-ordered the special edition CD with lyric and art booklet after listening in full again last night with headphones. I can't wait to talk about it with people.

Also shout out to Porch Party Records for being so great. They responded personally to my pre-order message as a long-time fan of Ian's and it was so nice.

"Buried Alive" is still my favourite but for the first time since I've had a press copy "I'm Only On Your Side" hit me like a freight train.

 

I hope they eventually get to press this on vinyl.

Same, I've actually been chatting to Ian today which has been amazing. Such a solid dude and I'm incredibly excited for him being able to release this record and back in music in general. Can tell a lot went into this.

 

One of my favourites on record, so great.
