Brian just posted that he's looking for extras for his new music video in Asbury Park next thursday. The post said you must wear a "mod-style" outfit. Kinda bummed it's not on a weekend, and that i don't have anything like that in my wardrobe
Alright folks, thensemi-finals are now over, and THE BACKSEAT is moving on to the championship after beating out Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts 18 to 10. The championship match will be posted shortly.
Studio version... lifeless?????? Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but I still think someone must have played a long elaborate practical joke on you where blue jeans on your copy of SATQ was replaced by a different song
Okay everyone, this is it- THE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH in The Gaslight Anthem bracket challenge! It's come down to their best opener versus their best closer. Two songs that distill everything we love about Gaslight lyrically, thematically, sonically and musically. Great Expectations vs. The Backseat. This round will be open for 24 hours. Like the last rounds, you can only vote once (no vote changes). I will cast my vote in the event of a tie. Go!!!
Backseat In the finals for the gaslight anthem bracket, you gotta give the edge to the song with the better lyrics and that is backseat
That's kinda what i'm thinking, or maybe something in the vein of Oasis. He has stated that he's obsessed with Noel Gallagher.
To be honest, I think the studio versions for everything pre-59 Sound are pretty bad. The live versions of all those songs are better. The reason I don't really ever go back to Sink or Swim isn't because the songs aren't good, it's because they sound bad. The EP is a step up, but not significantly.
The Backseat Agree, Sink Or Swim has great songs, but the production does suck. It was clearly done on the cheap.
I just listened to both songs, and they are so damn good. Easily top-5 TGA songs. I’ll go with The Backseat, though.
