Backseat is a mostly better song but I have a better emotional attachment to Blue Jeans in that I've slept on those beaches, know where that 4th street payphone is and would really love to buy a house on Cookman one day.
I don't know, I think the studio version of it is kind of lifeless and Brian's vocal isn't great. Give me 3/4 of The 59 Sound, 3/4 of American Slang, half of Handwritten, half of Elsie, half of Painkillers, and the three best songs off Get Hurt ahead of "Blue Jeans." I seriously went through and counted the Fallon songs I liked more last night, and I think I got to 34.
Weird...I found out that it was up from someone tweeting a screenshot of it on Spotify - I primarily use Apple Music and I'm listening to it on there right now. But yeah, I just checked Spotify and it wasn't there :/ Ain't that a shame
Might not be US Spotify that the screenshot was from, or they uploaded it to Spotify from their personal files
Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts (10) The Backseat (15) I'll keep this open for another hour then it's on to the Championship Round at noon (EST)
I've only seen them once live, and it was one of the few shows they didn't play "The Backseat" which was very sad. Seeing songs like "Mae" and "Here's Lookin' At You Kid" live at that show elevated both of those songs to my top 5 Gaslight songs. The Backseat is already a top 5 for me, so I couldn't imagine what seeing it live would've done for me with that song
