he's touring Feb 20 - March 11 across the pond, I would assume this is a relatively safe bet for spring/summer US tour hoping we get the album WAY before then though
that sounds about right, at this point I think the earliest we'd get it would be December but tours are usually indicative of album release times so that sounds like a good bet
Yeah I saw someone mention seeing a tour flyer with a 3/18 US Tour date on it, then it got taken down. Assuming that's the next announcement.
I think so, I thought it was Brian Fallon & the Crowes, but Howling Weather sounds pretty cool too haha
New for now. I don't know if The Crowes were always the same guys, so maybe he has a different set of guys behind him for this show.
Gotcha! I've got to say, I definitely like the way it sounds. Ready for some new music, and definitely need to see him live. Haven't seen him or Gaslight yet.
The band that he had before was super solid and full-sounding though. Although when I saw him in Jan 2016 he had Catherine Popper with him to play bass which was a treat. She rocks.
Maybe him having a new name for the backing band is him distancing himself from The Horrible Crowes album? With two solo albums he'll have enough songs for long headline sets without playing Horrible Crowes songs.
Assuming it’s he Band he played with last weekend, The howling weather bassist looks like Tim Cook from Apple just FYI
As long as he never stops playing "Behold the Hurricane" that's fine by me. Although I still jam to Elsie a lot. That album is incredible.
it's mentioned in both of the Encore podcast episodes relating to Fall Music, and I also firmly consider Elsie as the #1 fall music album. I listen to that album probably maybe once or twice all year and then like 40 times in the months of october and november.
That and "Devil and God" by Brand New are my fall go-to's. "Science Fiction" is still very much in regular rotation for me right now though
Okay everyone, we're now in the SEMI-FINALS of this competition. We've whittled it down to 7 of Gaslight Anthem's best songs. The top 7 songs are Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts Even Cowgirls Get the Blues Great Expectations Mae Old White Lincoln The Backseat We're Getting a Divorce, You Keep the Diner This round is going to be different. It'll occur in 3 phases since there are an odd number of songs. There will be 3 one-on-one matches, and 1 triple threat match where you all will vote between 3 songs, and the winner of that match by the a majority of votes will move on to the finals. As with previous rounds, I will only be voting in the event of a tie. The round will breakdown like this: Phase 1: Triple Threat match(winner goes to the final) Phase 2: 2 one-on-one matches (winners move to phase 3) Phase 3: 1 one-on-one match (winner goes to the final)
When he did release Wonderful Life back in 2015?Wasnt it around November and then album in March?would be cool if did the same thing again and gave us like 3 songs earlier
Phase 1 will be a triple-threat match between: Great Expectations Mae Old White Lincoln You can only cast a vote for ONE song. The song with the most votes will advance to the championship. GO!
Oh snap. Throwing with my expectations and making us choose between Great Expectations and Mae... Bummed this means we cant get Blue Jeans vs Backseats in the final but gonna go with Great Expectations. Right from the opening bit of static its a perfect start to a perfect record.
