Cowgirls beat Dark Places Film Noir beat Boxer AND Get Hurt Old White Lincoln beat Old Haunts Casanova, Baby beat Bring it On Those are all, for me at least, bottom half 59 Sound songs beating better songs from other albums.
Cowgirls is equal to Dark Places and Film Noir is much better than Boxer. I get the rest though haha.
Ferris Wheel feels like it was a leftover from Sink or Swim. Sounds completely different from the rest of the record.
This is actually an asset to me, because a lot of the songs in the mid-section of The '59 Sound sound a little too similar.
Old White Lincoln and Casanova are some of my favorites off that record. This aggression will not stand.
Yeah, well, "Old Haunts" and "Bring it On" are some of my favorite Gaslight songs, and you people killed them.
Lincoln is one of my favorite TGA songs. That being said, I think Orphans is a bit stronger, but it was a tough choice for me.
I keep seeing all the activity in this thread and get faked out thinking Brian Fallon has made some kind of official announcement about Solo LP #2... Man, following this thread just reinforces how many awesome songs these guys have and just how strong most of their songs are. I feel like every time I listen to American Slang the album all the way through as soon as it gets done I swear it's their best album.
Lincoln and Patient Ferris Wheel are legit the best songs on that album. Fight me. Old White Lincoln Say i Won't (Recognize)
