In the sense of them making new music together, I think so too. In terms of them playing a show here and there together again, I'm open to thinking this is possible. I hope they do something next year for 10 Year Anniversary 59' Sound. I'm just praying you don't have any more information than what's on the surface and what we already know :(
I thought The Horrible Crowes was him and Perkins? Either way, the songs and themes, and the overall mood of Elsie were obviously vastly different than on Painkillers. I love both, and as excited as I am for another Fallon solo record, I'd love another Elsie-esque album from him.
You left out a couple of matches. I wanna be able to count all your votes in before I close this down
She Loves You (8) vs. Stay Lucky (13) Stay Vicious (13) vs. Stray Paper (8) Sweet Morphine (10) vs. Teenage Rebellion (11) The '59 Sound (9) vs. The Backseat (12) The Diamond Street Church Choir (19) vs. The Navesink Banks (2) Good morning all! The 2 middle matches are all still super close. I'm keeping this open for another 2 hours to see if we can get some more votes to trickle in. I appreciate you all taking part in this.
When I interviewed him last year, he basically said that he would love to do an Elsie Part 2 at some point, but that it would be under the Brian Fallon moniker and not the Horrible Crowes.
Stay Lucky (She Loves You could be the best of the B sides though) Stay Vicious Teenage Rebellion The '59 Sound The Diamond Street Church Choir (Navesink is underrated though)
I gotcha. Well that's cool that he's at least toying with that notion of another Elsie. I'm excited to see what he and Ted Hutt do with this next solo album
She Loves You (8) vs. Stay Lucky (14) Stay Vicious (14) vs. Stray Paper (8) Sweet Morphine (10) vs. Teenage Rebellion (12) The '59 Sound (10) vs. The Backseat (12) The Diamond Street Church Choir (20) vs. The Navesink Banks (2) Those 2 middle matches are still too close to call, plus there are a few more votes I'm anticipating to come in, so I'll keep this open a little while longer.
Perkins definitely had an influence on it, but once I heard Brian’s production on Hustle Up Starlings, it became evident that he was the driver of that sound.
She Loves You (9) vs. Stay Lucky (15) Stay Vicious (16) vs. Stray Paper (8) Sweet Morphine (11) vs. Teenage Rebellion (13) The '59 Sound (10) vs. The Backseat (14) The Diamond Street Church Choir (22) vs. The Navesink Banks (2)
Okay, it seems the counts have stopped coming in. Thanks for your votes everyone! This means that... Stay Lucky Stay Vicious Teenage Rebellion The Backseat and The Diamond Street Church Choir will advance to Round 2 HOWEVER we are still in Round 1. The last phase of matches will be: The Patient Ferris Wheel vs. The Queen of Lower Chelsea The Spirit of Jazz vs. Too Much Blood Underneath the Ground vs. We Came to Dance We Did It When We Were Young vs. We're Getting a Divorce, You Keep the Diner Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis? vs. Wooderson GO!!!
The Patient Ferris Wheel The Spirit of Jazz Underneath the Ground We're Getting a Divorce, You Keep the Diner Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis?
The Patient Ferris Wheel The Spirit of Jazz We Came to Dance We’re Getting a Divorce, You Keep the Diner Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis?
Ferris Wheel Spirit Dance Diner Wooderson Diner v WDIWWWY was tough, but considering i have the words “stay hungry stay free and do the best you can”’ tattooed i think thats my choice haha
The Patient Ferris Wheel The Spirit of Jazz Underneath the Ground We Did It When We Were Young Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis
Patient Ferris Wheel Spirit of the Jazz We Came to Dance When We Were Young Elvis That first matchup was harder than I originally thought it would be Too Much Blood gets too much hate but Spirit of the Jazz is the better song I enjoy Underneath the Ground but I think it would have been a better Horrible Crowes track Looks like Diner is getting a lot of love but I have a stronger connection with WDIWWWY
