She Loves You (ugh fuck this) Stay Vicious Teenage Rebellion The '59 Sound (yeah fuck this matchup) The Diamond Street Church Choir (oh god damn it, I adore Navesink Banks but not gonna put it above this).
Cannot imagine having to defend THE Gaslight song more than I do Stray Paper but apparently that's where we're at
I like the 59' Sound a tad more, but both are in my top 5 Gaslight songs of all time. It's a crime one will be gone first round.
I have a pretty deep personal connection with the '59 Sound, otherwise I would've voted Backseat. The Backseat would honestly beat almost every song besides this one for me
I got into TGA in 2010, while processing/getting over/grieving through losing a close friend in a car crash and the 59' Sound really broke me the first couple time I listened to it and it will always be a song I hold reaaaaaally close to my heart. but yeah still voting The Backseat.
Stay Lucky Stray Paper Teenage Rebellion The Backseat The Diamond Street Church Choir I feel sick voting against The '59 Sound in round one
"If you never let me go, I will never let you down." Well guys, if the next album sucks, this is on you.
"The Backseat" to me is just the purest distillation of what I love about Gaslight. Wistful, nostalgic, urgent, anthemic. "The '59 Sound" is a great, great song, but "The Backseat" was the first Gaslight song that clicked with me back in 2008, and is still my favorite all these years later.
Keep the votes and protests comin', I gotta step out to handle a few errands. I'll update the scores when I get a chance. This set of matches is definitely gonna go the full 24 hours
Fack. '59 Sound v. Backseat was pure evil. Backseat is... so good. Always the closer live until they got close to the end of things. I had many romantic moments with that song. But '59 Sound is Gaslight. That song is a little bit of everything they ever did and would ever do.
