the first time i listened to Gaslight was the 59 Sound album. Great Expectations and '59 got me hooked but honestly I think Old White Lincoln is what made me stay. I love that song so much. such great imagery. Probably a top 3 song for me.

We are definitely going down on this one. Chug the malort and say goodnight.

 

In 2013 they were playing Old White Lincoln slightly down tempo, but in the tuning of E Standard and it really injected new life into that song. There was a HQ video floating on youtube of them playing it that way at Made in America 2013 and I think it might be my favorite version of that song

i've been looking at their album tracklistings trying to estimate what matchups will be in future rounds but i am so bad at alphabetically ordering things i can't believe i got out of 4th grade

 

Man, I'm in the major minority this round. Not a big fan of Say I Won't or Senor but love the other 2 on that EP.

Red Violins and Selected Poems are so so so underrated. Love them both to death.

 

PS - If Stay Vicious lines up with Stray Paper in round 1, I'll have a real problem. My least favorite 2 songs.

 

red violins is catchy as heck but i think the lyrics are pretty bad haha

Old Haunts is one of my favorite songs period, losing that and National Anthem back to back rounds is a shame

 

This bracket challenge is like the first 4 seasons of Game of Thrones...everyone's favorites are getting axed early

In a round of weak match-ups, it sucks that "Old Haunts" and "Old White Lincoln" came up against each other. Other than "Orphans," both are better songs than everything else in this bunch.

Of the two, Stay Vicious is by far the better song. The shifts from the verses to the choruses are really cool, plus I'm a sucker for the use of "la-la's" haha

That first matchup is so brutal. Really came down to playcounts for me and that’s easily Old White Lincoln. I love Old Haunts though!

Went to see what sort of matches are gonna be in the next round, so made my own bracket but now I'm like "Hey shouldn't the initial sort order have been 1000 years, 1930 and then 45" #1930gotrobbed #notactuallymadatyou

How is the next round going to work anyways? Won't there be an odd number of songs left?
