I'da Called You Woody Joe Keepsake Meet Me By the River's Edge Miles Davis & The Cool Mulholland Drive
I think American Slang is my favorite, I just really dislike the production on it. I wish it sounded like Handwritten or Get Hurt
Good morning all, sorry for ghosting on you. Here are the score updates. The next phase of matches in this round will be posted shortly.... I Could'a Been a Contender (17) vs. I'da Called You Woody Joe (10) Keepsake (6) vs. Mae (21) Mama's Boys (3) vs. Meet Me By the River's Edge (24) Miles Davis & The Cool (24) vs. Misery (3) Mulholland Drive (17) vs. National Anthem (10)
Kinda surprised Mams's Boys didn't get more votes, Im always seeing people talk about that song in here
Okay, it seems the counts have stopped coming in. Thanks for your votes everyone! This means that... I Could'a Been a Contender Mae Meet Me By the River's Edge Miles Davis & The Cool and Mulholland Drive will advance to Round 2 HOWEVER we are still in Round 1. The next phase of matches will be: Old Haunts vs. Old White Lincoln Orphans vs. Red at Night Red in the Morning vs. Red Violins Rollin' and Tumblin' vs. Say I Won't (Recognize) Selected Poems vs. Senor & The Queen GO!!!!
i actually think i would like A/S less if it had that production or sound haha i love it just the way it is
I would've voted for it if the rules allowed. I love that song so much. Buuuut at the same time it did go against Meet Me By the River's Edge which is also amazing. That would've been the hardest match for me
Old White Lincoln (tough match) Orphans Red in the Morning Say I Won't (Recognize) Senor & The Queen EDIT: changing vote from Red at Night to Orphans, I hope I did it fast enough but if not its OK i guesss I completely mixed up which songs were which haha
I hear those songs as big arena rock songs, but they sound compressed or something to me in the recording, I don't really know how to explain. I wish they played more AS songs live :( I think that's where they really shine for me
Old White Lincoln Red at Night Red Violins Say I Won't (Recognize) Senor and the Queen Tough matches. I love Orphans. "The clothes I wore just don't fit my soul anymore" is a fav line. I also adore Selected Poems and think it a great bombastic rock song but Senor and the Queen is just so well written
Re: Say I Won't, this is another of my fav Gaslight live vids. Brian sounds pretty bad here because he was sick, but the Jeffersons theme song Jam in the middle is an absolute fucking blast and they all were visibly having so much fun
rollin’ & tumblin’ is fine, its a hard fast rock song and nothing more. Probably wouldnt vote for it but it would depend on the matchup.
Old White Lincoln (sucks to go against Haunts) Orphans Red in the Morning Rollin' and Tumblin' Senor & The Queen
Say I Won't will win pretty easily I bet. The backing vocals on Rollin' towards the end (the oh my's, especially when they change the pitch) are one of my favorite moments on any Gaslight song, so I am a little irrational with that song. I love good backing vocal moments. It's probably my favorite on Get Hurt.
