Halloween Have Mercy Here Comes My Man High Lonesome Howl Thought I missed a round and almost had a hard attack. Almost all tough tough choices here.

Halloween: I just adore this track. Great Expectations is objectively the more important Gaslight song but I truly love Halloween. Went with my gut. Have Mercy: I love the female Ooo oooo ooo oo oo ooooos. Too much, in fact. It’s a very softspoken song that creates such a mood with in me, sounds like a sunrise. Here Comes My Man: Brian once described as somewhere between Velvet Underground and Beyonce. Such a jam. High Lonesome: just such a fun sing along. Always a live show highlight for me Howl: One of the best high energy rock tunes around. It should be law that they open with this.
Great descriptions. I do think Howl would be a pretty sweet opener, but I kinda love when bands open with a slow song to get you ready to explode. That is why I love them opening up with Have Mercy. Have Mercy into Rollin' and Tumblin' or Howl would be a hell of a great start to a show.
On their 2012 tour they opened with "Mae" and on the final chord after "...since the radio was on." the stage lights went up and their backdrop came down behind them. It was beautiful. They rolled from that into The '59 Sound.
was just gonna post I saw them open with Mae and then jump right into either Howl or 59 couldnt remember which and it was absolutely perfect.
The Gaslight Anthem Setlist at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park This was the first time i saw them, for the "45" video shoot. For as long as I live, I'll always remember how Brian had the biggest smile on his face when we all screamed "HEYYYY! AYYYY!" back at them when they played through it the first time. I had finished with my finals for my senior year of college and I had the rest of the week off, but none of my friends did, so I went to the shoot myself and met some really nice folks there while we waited in line.
Without context, this looks Brian got inspired after coming back from a Watch the Throne show and seeing them play "*****s in Paris" 8 times

I'm gonna hold off on moving to the next round until 4pm (EST) to see if a couple more votes come in. Score updates tonight will be slow after 5pm because I'm going to the Phillies game with my girlfriend and her company.
Great Expectations Handwritten Helter Skeleton Here's Looking At You, Kid Howl The tough one for me was the Lonesome vs Kid matchup. Lonesome's chorus has always been one of my favorite moments on the album, but I think Kid hits me too hard to vote against it.

Halloween Handwritten Here Comes My Man Here's Looking At You, Kid Hold You Up (I probably like Howl more when all is said and done, but this song needs more love than one vote. So underrated)

Of the three times I've seen Gaslight, the first time was BY far the best: The Gaslight Anthem Setlist at The Jewish Mother, Virginia Beach The original Jewish Mother in VA Beach was a small deli/restaurant that used to have great punk shows back during my teenage years. It was probably a 150/200 cap venue that provided a nice small environment to see bands in. Gaslight played there a few months after The '59 Sound came out, and the crowd already knew all the words to every song. Highlights were the Start of War tag to Old White Lincoln, Say I Won't (Recognize) with Benny drumming on the low ceiling during his drum fill to end the song, and I Coul'da Been a Contender. What a phenomenal night.
