this song always seemed like their attempt at a radio friendly top 40 song, and while I enjoy the song, it's one of my lesser favorites on the album. it fell flat for me for a while, it just seemed too polished and safe.

 

It definitely gets better toward the end, but I think the beginning is actively bad. Kudos to them for trying something a little different, I just don't think it worked.

 

Smh, "Here Comes My Man" is a top three Gaslight song.

Yeah, I'm all in on Here Comes My Man as well.

 

I think it's Brian's best vocal ever.

 

HCMM is crazy good.

That title goes to "Blood Loss" off the Horrible Crowes record.

 

Actually yeah, Blood Loss.

House is top three.

 

"Blood Loss" is great, but is a little shouty for my taste. His vocal technique and tunefulness on "Here Comes My Man" is superior.

 

That's fair. I just love that waltz in the verse melodies.

 

And when the name of your song invokes the name of one of the best songs ever, you better bring it.

 

I loathe the fact that Bring It On and High Lonesome are not going to available in previous rounds for me.

I tend to have a ridiculous emotional attachment to Handwritten as I fell in love with a girl the night the album streamed (I remember singing oh sha-la-la as we went to sleep). It turned into a 2-3 year period of time of my best and worst, but that album certainly articulated every feeling and emotion I had.

When it all ended, Get Hurt came out the week after we stopped talking. So yeah.

Then as I've moved on in life, Painkillers came out as a reflection of all that.

This is my favorite band and Brian is my favorite song writer.
