I love taking albums on Spotify and playing around with the tracklist to make my own utopian version of an album. What would be your ideal version of Get Hurt?
Boxer (17)vs. Break Your Heart (2) Bring It On (10) vs. Casanova, Baby! (9) Dark Places (16) vs. Desire (3) Drive (6)vs. Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (13) Film Noir (13) vs. Get Hurt (6)
Man, honestly surprised that "Get Hurt" is losing by that much. "Film Noir" is good, but one of the weaker songs on The '59 Sound for me. "Get Hurt" is so devastating, and no other song in their discography sounds like it.
The choices aren't gonna get any easier, my friends haha just an FYI (figured I'd give a really advanced warning), updates and round advancements are gonna slow down tomorrow night, I'll be at the Phillies game.
I don't believe so, but seeing it for the first time made me so happy. Brandon does a great job with that song. It's perfect for his range.
Easy round for me. Boxer Bring It On Dark Places Cowgirls Film Noir Love Break Your Heart but Boxer is upper tier Gaslight for me. Get Hurt is a beautiful song, but Film Noir is way better in my mind.

Boxer. I have a randomly really strong memory of a winter spent in Birmingham UK at uni listening to this album and this song has such a strong connection despite being on of my least favourites on that album Bring It On. A tough choice but Bring It On is inside my top 5 TGA songs. I love it a lot and have such a strong emotional connection to it from just early this year which I'll go into for the next song. Alongside that, I think it has a really cool melody in the chorus and the outro is one of my favourite parts of the album. I also really enjoy the lyrics of the verse: "My queen of the Bronx, blue eyes and spitfire. I saw you walking back and forth about another boy, thinking that you may want to leave." Desire. I know it's a lost cause but yeah. Despite not hearing it for maybe a year, I was singing this one day in March. I'd suffered my mum and step dad breaking up, had to quit my job due to mental health and then had just gone through a four year relationship breaking up in January and it was the last straw. One day at work at a temporary job, I started singing this and it felt like everything about my break up became real. It finally hit me as I sung the chorus, and I couldn't even remember what the song was at first. It made me face up to what had happened and move on. So yeah, I love this song. Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. Honestly, I just don't like Drive much. It's good but nowhere near the quality of anything from their second album. Film Noir. Again, I think this song is weak compared to the rest of the album (alongside the above song), but it's the better of the choice.
1930 losing in the first round is fucked up and I hate everyone who voted against it ------------- Boxer Casanova, Baby! Dark Places Drive Film Noir
Can I do both rounds? 45 1000 Years Angry Johnny & The Radio Blue Dahlia Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts Boxer Casanova, Baby! Dark Places Even Cowgirls Get the Blues Film Noir
Sorry, no :( once a phase or round of voting is closed, it's closed. Also with voting, once a vote is cast, there's no taking it back.

Thanks for sharing that story about "Desire". That's one of the things I like most about these brackets. People reflect back on a song and share why it means so much to them.
Boxer Casanova, Baby! Dark Places Even Cowgirls Get the Blues Get Hurt Losing Blue Dahlia in round one is baffling
Break your heart Bring it on Dark places Cowgirls Get hurt. Agree the last one is the hardest. Film Noir was the first song that blew me away on The 59 Sound.
