Someone really should make a Positive Change to this thread and post the New Zealand YouTube video of this new Gaslight song using their VPN, whatever that is.
I am very grateful that my entire friend group, both of my brothers, and both of their respective friend groups have all made it their personality, but then also the site I frequent the most also loves it. Thank god haha
It's a pretty by the books Gaslight song, in a good way. Sounds like it came directly off of Handwritten. And Brian sounds different than usual but I can't put my finger on it yet.
The bridge into the last chorus set me off crying, the timing with recent events in my personal life is fucking uncanny but I've missed this band so, so much
Wonder who the female backing vocals are on this. and yea, Brian’s voice gets scruffier and scruffier over time but it still sounds good here.
Tried downloading a VPN to play it and still couldn't get it to work lol - also can't do it on my work computer so my only available computer is a 2014 macbook which barely runs haha
I'm way less hyped for TNTL as I would have been 10 yrs ago so I won't have that problem. Still excited to hear it though.
HOLY SHIT. This song rules. Positive Charge reminds me lyrically what Frank Turner's "Get Better" did for me at the time where I just needed to hear that. I was so fucking down back then coming off a year of pure turmoil. This has that, but it being Gaslight makes it just so much better. Lyrically I think this has to be the perfect comeback song. It is written so nostalgically as a letter to your former self when times were so much better before getting older and life hitting you in the face with all the shit we go through, but also as acceptance we are here, alive, and its okay. And also at the same time reads as legit your favorite fucking band after 9 years is back and is that positive spark we all needed for fans and the songwriter themselves.
