I take pride in stealing things from other forums and breaking them in the thread here, as I did with the 2018 tour lol. I have a group chat with my brother and my best friend (who are also huge Gaslight fans) and I was sending them the hints in the newsletter and they basically thought I had gone insane, haha. Felt very vindicated today.
This is one of the few bands that I’ve traveled to see, too. Have seen them in Indy, Columbus, twice at the Stone Pony (have those posters on my wall, grabbing a pic soon), Nashville (was doing concert photography at the time so I had a photo pass), Milwaukee multiple times… No other band has been that for me.
Here’s the photo album of everything, good and bad, that I took while in Nashville for the Get Hurt tour. https://share.icloud.com/photos/0fbPXFSuR1qf6gQQ7ZFb4oiXA. I don’t have time to filter out good ones right now so enjoy my terrible photos from my terrible gear back then.
First time I saw Gaslight was 2009 with Cage The Elephant and Heartless Bastards opening in a venue with maybe 300-400 people. They played most of the first two albums and it was absolutely amazing.
Again, I'll spotlight this setlist, which is maybe the most stacked set I've ever seen anyone play. The Gaslight Anthem Setlist at Saint Andrew's Hall, Detroit
Did they fit that in when they were already playing in Michigan? I feel like I was already seeing them on the other side of the state when they announced that out of the blue. Mega bummed as I think they were an opener when I saw them (Grand Rapids?) and you got like 30 songs.
Yeah, I think they played the Orbit Room in GR a few nights later, but that was on a tour with Hot Water Music and Rise Against. They had a night off from that tour and booked a one-off in Detroit.
First time was the Rise Against/Trio/Thrice tour in 2008 Second time was with Chamberlain in 2010 The right after Handwritten came out in 2012, and the 59 Sound reunion tour.
I think I've seen them three times. That Detroit show was the first time. Saw them again in Detroit on the Get Hurt tour, with Against Me opening. Then the reunion tour. Two of those three are in my top 10 shows of all time.
Hahaha nice. I was 17 and there with my dad lol, very different vibes for me but great time nonetheless
My first Gaslight show: The Gaslight Anthem Setlist at House of Blues, Chicago Playing all of Señor and the Queen right in the middle of that set absolutely ruled. I also saw them in 2014 with Against Me! but it was at one of the worst sounding venues in Chicago.
