I think it's going to be a tour only, but it might be a little longer one than the last time. New music still feels like a pipe dream. Although as I said previously, the very prolific BF has put out preciously little music in the past 2 years........"so you're saying there's a chance!!"
Benny seemingly leaving Mercy Union lends credence to the idea that this is more than just a 2 week commitment
he has put out an album and was live-streaming basically every week, it’s not like he was alex turner moving into a castle or something
Maybe they joined chorus, and saw some shit about how Jimmy Eat World are the most consistent songwriters and were like "alright bet"
This guy put out 9 full length albums of original material in a 13 year period (2007-2020). He recorded Local Honey in 2019. We are now in 2022. Christmas album, live streams, whatever. To me there is zero chance that in the last 3 years he has just stopped writing songs. In fact he probably has written a ton of them. It's not batshit crazy to think some of them could be Gaslight songs. But I digress.
That crossed my mind too but the posts seem to imply something more Finn-solo based. Maybe Finn solo is the support
If Hold Steady is the opener for a Gaslight reunion tour I would probably need to hit A LOT LOT LOT of those shows because THS never comes anywhere near me anymore either
Going to not get my hopes up for anything more than a reunion tour, but I’ll just say that seeing that photo of all of them together made me happy.
I’d love new music, but I think a tour and announcement that they’re writing music and are back, is probably more realistic.
Around the time local honey came out i assume. He wrote "21" days about it, although most people interpret it to be about relationships, he has said it was about him quitting smoking.
