I want and wish this was true. When there was no mentioned on a new solo album in the works I was disappointed. I know he did Night Divine, but I had really enjoyed the new album around this time of years 2 years apart routine.
I thought I remembered Brian saying a few years back that if they ever did come back with new music it wouldn’t be a big tease. It would be “here’s what we have coming” either way, I’m excited to see them on tour!
Relistening to the 59 sound for the first time in forever and yeah this is their best. Absolutely timeless.
I personally love American Slang most. I definitely see a reunion tour happening before any new music, even though I'd prefer new music over a tour any day.
I’ll be honest and say that if there’s no news today I’ve already lost a lot of interest. I don’t have the energy for a drawn out news drop.
I have a feeling that if a brown square got you excited, whatever they do announce will too, even if you had to wait for it.
Yeah, it's been eight years since we got an album and four years since we got a tour. I think I can wait more than three days for whatever the hell they're teasing.
I'm not saying that I won't be excited but rather that I don't have the capacity to give this much more than a passing thought.
That was enough time to turn Peter into Pan and save his children from one of the greatest pirates of all time so yea, 3 days is a lot.
Yeah, I wouldn't say I'm waiting on bated breath either, but I'm not that bothered by the gap between the initial tease and the announcement. This kind of thing seems par for the course in the music industry these days. Teasing the announcement about the announcement; debuting the single weeks/months before announcing the album; not revealing the tracklist right away when announcing a new album. For whatever reason, the strategy of buzz building seems to be about withholding information. I don't really like that trend, but I'm used to it.
I could wait years for anything Gaslight related, but I will say I am expecting a tour this year and I’m slightly impatient just to see the dates cause I have so much going on this summer/fall with weddings so I want to be relieved to know the show date doesn’t fall on a date I cannot attend lol And then I’ll just plan another city to drive to in that case hahaha
I much more prefer bands to just drop news or content out of the blue over teasing an announcement. I find myself more excited since my anticipation is almost always killed by rumors building up to the official announcement/release.
The drawn out tease methodology has become absolutely exhausting, but I’ll give Gaslight some leeway haha.
