Would have happily traded the three Sink or Swim songs we got in Chicago for American Slang songs/"Blue Dahlia"/"Keepsake."
I'm honestly so happy I went to both Boston shows. I didn't think they'd shake up the setlist much but i just mapped out differences between night one and night two. Handwritten -> Stay Vicious Wooderson -> Drive Helter Skeleton -> Blue Dahlia Boomboxes -> We Came To Dance Too Much Blood - > The Diamon Church St Choir 1930 -> Queen Of Lower Chelsea
Those two nights in Boston were everything I could've hoped for. I did have to rush out of Night 2 a little early and was unable to grab the tour poster -- if anyone happens to have an extra or is going to a show this week and can pick me up one, I'd send money in advance and can pay for shipping. Long shot but I'm kicking myself for not getting it.
Plus Halloween as well on Night 1! I still remember back in 2012/13? at a show in Boston they played Halloween for the first time ever. Never released before, and it was SICK!
Blue Dahlia sounds so good throughout the verses and then it gets to the chorus and just falls flat for me. Could never get into it.
This was where we were on the rail both nights, literally the exact same spot. First night I got there at 4:30, second night 6:30 but did that "cut the line" thing House of Blues offers (I'm sorry). Also, was so pumped we got "Drive" last night, that was actually on my list of songs I've never seen them play. Now it's down to only Red in the Morning, Bring It On, Orphans, We Did It When We Were Young, Rollin' & Tumblin', Break Your Heart, and Dark Places (plus some bonus tracks and the Misery EP).
I was literally right next to you. If you look at the DimeStoreSaints fan account’s Instagram they shared my photo! And you have no idea how bummed I’ve been to never get Rollin’ & Tumblin’. It seems silly wanting a single off an album, but it’s my favorite track on the album and would be such fun live.
Aw man, you were right there too! So funny. But yeah, I just can't believe that's not their go-to Get Hurt song, it's so good and I feel like would get the crowd so pumped up. Would have loved to heard that over Helter Skeleton, but it's really hard to complain about anything from those two shows.
I've been wanting to do this for a while now. I think I got them all. Helter Skeleton was pretty fun in Boston -- also, for some reason it struck me as hilarious how Brian started into the song with the wrong lyrics. He jumps in so excited and then was like ahhhh shit wrong words
It was great night last night...I loved that, how to say, like ,,polite" pit haha like people went crazy but still were careful which I really loved.I was right in the middle of it for the whole time and it was definitely one of the best shows. For those who goes to next shows grab that damn poster and ,,car" tshirt, those things were beautiful and I didn't grab any since no coat check and I wanted really just dance on every single song
One last time, hate to be a pest BUT --- anyone at Philly or going to NJ that can grab the boardwalk tour poster, I will pay for shipping and pay extra for your troubles. (feeling the post-concert blues and really regret not grabbing it).
If I recall, Brian never even heard of Pitchfork before the 59 sound and not in a throwing shade way but in a he really knew nothing of music journalism way.
my silly friends didn't consider TGA coming out of hibernation to play 10-year anniv shows when planning their wedding a year and a half ago....RUDE....so i will have to settle for only going saturday and sunday i guess.
Basically he was joking with a guy up front about Ed Sheeran and Prince, handed the guy 10 bucks and said "go buy a prince record", the dude threw it back and then Brian said "eh I bet you write for Pitchfork"
