Update: listened to all of Japandroids albums yesterday, loved them. Celebration Rock lived up to the hype IMO. This all occurred after I revisited all of T59S. Currently listening to- Queen: Live from Wembley Stadium '86. Such a great live album to jam to.
I thought Near to the Wild Heart of Life was really slept on this year. On par with Celebration Rock for me.
i really didn't love a lot of Near to the Wild Heart, Body Like a Grave is the only one i really loved. No Known Drink is good. title track is good. North East South West is really bad.
Heard heavy rumours of them headlining 2000 Trees festival in the UK, which would also allow Brian to do a solo acoustic set in the forest sessions stage. I would absolutely love this.
I think they will be announced on Wednesday as headliners for 2000 Trees here in the UK on 12-14th of July too.
Nope, a tour!! July 20 - London - Apollo July 23 - Dublin - Vicar Street July 24 - Glasgow - Barrowlands July 25 - Manchester - Apollo How to get tickets for The Gaslight Anthem's UK comeback tour On sale Friday, various presales Tues-Thurs.
maybe it's because of gov ball not letting them perform in close proximity around the date, but i am SHOCKED there is no jersey date for this. i'm trying to justify Gaslight, menz, manchester, & halsey as being worth the cost of saturday admission, but, meh.
I have no reason to think so, other than it making sense in my head haha. I got a ticket for Saturday. I've only seen the gaslight anthem once, so I'm taking every chance I get. Plus the '59 sounds my favorite album. With The Menzingers, Manchester Orchestra and Japandroids, its easily worth the price to me
I hope so! I'll be in London when they are in D.C. I was really thinking about taking a road trip to see them in Chicago. Hoping a Jersey date will be coming!
Yeah I was considering a memorial day road trip to DC but then realized i'd end up spending way more than just biting the bullet and going to gov ball haha hoping for more dates though, i want to see this in a club setting, even though they are more than capable of being a festival band.
Was pretty convinced a Boston date was happening. Now may take a bus to DC for the show. Do we think more shows could be added?
