or even the non-59 sound stuff first so they can open with something fast and keep in tradition by closing with Backseat
Yeah I'm definitely going to wait then rather than shell out hundreds for Gov Ball. I've been there before, way too annoying to get there as well. Plus I'm seeing Brian in April.
hoping that the 59 sound road show heads for chicago for riot fest or lolla. or even the odd club show (crazy pipe dream, but i'm praying).
Getting there is quite a journey whether you walk across the bridge or take a ferry. Hoping a more convenient show is announced....I would do Lolla in a heartbeat
Gonna go ahead and revisit this album today because it just feels right. Between this and Sleepwalkers, Brian's set to have a huge year.
It's really hard for me to imagine they don't end up at Riot Fest then. Pretty cool. Honestly Handwritten is their album I know the best, but I've always meant to commit more time to the rest of their albums, so this seems like a good excuse.
Hard for me to be sad that we are getting a 59 Sound tour, but I assume this means I may not get a chance to see Brian support Sleepwalkers until at least fall/winter or into 2019, since I am missing his once announced NY show as it is.
Lolla is possible, but I really think it'd be Riot. The only reason I could think they'd want to do Lolla>Riot is if they're really trying to do summer dates, especially if Brian is trying to do a solo tour or something in the fall, but they're just such a natural fit for a 6 pm Riot Fest main stage slot.
6 PM? They close out a stage with this album. I'm only concerned about Lolla because they've played it more often than Riot Fest but I think Riot Fest is where they'd want to be for a full album set. That's not Lolla's thing.
Eh.... if they close out a stage it wouldn't be the main stage. I know a reunion boosts them a little but I don't really see them at headliner level. Then again I was very wrong about Jawbreaker being headliner level last year so what do I know. It's also worth noting that, to my knowledge, a top 3 headliner has never played an album in full at Riot Fest. And I wouldn't worry about Lolla for that reason - Riot Fest has only been an outdoor fest since 2012, and it looks like TGA played both Riot and Lolla that year and haven't played either since (unless there was a Lolla show that got missed on setlist.fm)
hoping they do more than just the summer festivals, need a Stone Pony Summer Stage show or like a Central Park Summer Stage show.
