    1) A++++ song

    2) What is the lyric he screams?

    3) this is a spiritual sequel to Underneath the Ground, yes ?

    4) only negative comment: Does he really say “bring my football top?” As in jersey?? If so....WORST SPORTS REFERENCE in a song since Frank Turner botched his tennis reference in Love Forty Down. Nobody calls it a football top!! Really hope I’m hearing it wrong!!

    He screams "Stacy" and that is the correct lyric, according to Apple Music.

    Does it make more sense if he's referring to a football/soccer jersey, not American football? IIRC, he's a big Spurs fan.

    Anyone have full lyrics?

    If Euros call it a top, then yes, that would be better. No idea if true though

  5. I love this song, so groovy

    i can't listen to Love Forty Down. IMO it's one of his worst songs.

    Agree. And he loves it. Plays it live. It’s bad even without the bad tennis references frankly

    Damn, no Philly date until April 27th? That sucks. That being said, I'm glad it's at Union Transfer. That venue is awesome.

    Great artwork, great lead single, great album title. Should be a worthy follow up to Painkillers. Working with Butch walker was a good move the first time around, but Ted Hutt always manages to get something special out of him.

    Yeah nobody in England calls it a jersey, we call it a top. He references "English song" too about The Beatles so I guess he was just in an Anglophile mood.

    I am from Massachusetts and have no knowledge of the language used surrounding football over in England and I just kind of assumed it's something they would say over there. It just sounds to me like he's singing about a jersey for a team that plays what most of the world calls football.

    What went through my head right away when I heard that lyric was an American who is in love with or has a strong emotional connection to someone from England who refers to what they were as their "football top" - even if, as an American, you would normally call the article of clothing a "soccer jersey", if the person you are in love / have a deep emotional connection with always called it their "football top" I feel like in your mind its gonna always be a 'football top' when it comes to that person.

    To me it's a phenomenal lyric and doesn't have any of the clunkiness of Love Forty Down.
