Wow dude, replace the backseat with National Anthem or the 59 sound and we have the same top 5. That's impressive that your first four are in my top 5
Saw on Instagram that Brian produced the new EP for The Scandals called Lucky Seven. The title track sounds very TGA.
Wow, that Scandals song does sound very much like TGA. All that touring with Brian's solo project must have worn off a little bit. I really like the song. It's been a while since I listened to other Scandals records, so maybe those have that influence as well.
Brian FallonVerified account@thebrianfallon 3h3 hours ago London, I’m really sorry but I have to cancel playing with @frankturner on May 12 due to recording committments. I promise to be back soon! ---- Bad news for London, good news for the rest of us.
Jeeze how do you narrow down to top 5... 1. Patient Ferris wheel 2. Old white lincoln 3. High Lonesome 4. We did it when we were young 5. Dark Places I keep listening to Get hurt and its really grown on me. Some great tunes in there.
mae is my favorite song from them. so epic. followed by (i think): here's looking at you kid great expectations national anthem mulholland drive
Wow. This sounds like something off the This Charming Man EP. 1. Wooderson 2. Blue Jeans & White T Shirts 3. Old White Lincoln 4. Howl 5. Red At Night
It's one of his weakest lyrically. Just doesn't feel like a very inspired track. Blue Dahlia should've been on the album instead.
I think since Brian said it, so many other people have went on to say it. As a track 9, in the flow of the album, and as set up to Mae I like it. I'm pro Desire. It's a fun fast paced love song. Blue Dahlia is a cool song. As a track 12, coming off National Anthem, it's a cool blast of energy after an acoustic number. Yeah, it's a bonus song, but it's widely available and I prefer to consider it song 12 of Handwritten.
This record is fantastic. New sound for The Flats but I'm so behind it, on their older albums the mid-tempo tunes were often my favourites so this is right up my alley. Definitely think some people in this thread would find something to enjoy here if they haven't heard it already. I would recommend "Burn Out Again", "Indoors" and "Sympathy Vote" especially.
"Too Much Blood" would be the low point on Handwritten for me but even it is decent. I'm pro "Desire" for sure
wish i liked desire, but can't get into it. one of my least favorite TGA songs. idk where i'd fit blue dahlia into the official track list as a sub
