Yeah, they covered The War by Lucero back in the day, so I'd be shocked if it's not a reference to that song/album
Finally popping back in to say that I spent a lot of time with The '59 Sound and it is truly fantastic. I've come back to this release again and Autumn just does not get old to me.
My only real gripes with the album are the way Brian sings "Fir tree" in Autumn (where it just sounds like Furrrr tree"...and I wish that he didn't go higher on "Losing my desire" in Michigan 1975. If that phrase just stayed with the melody from the previous two lines I think it would have been better, rather than "Losing my De-si-ya!" Okay I'll go hide from the tomatoes that will be thrown my way.
I'm obsessed with Michigan 1975 - it's easily my favorite song on the album and one of my favorite Brian songs of all-time, but I 100% agree on the delivery of desire.
I agree! Those are my two favorite songs on the album, and easily what I've played the most. Maybe that's why I'm more critical of those two parts.
Ya think there were any songs from Brian's solo career that the rest of the guys heard and were like "Ahhh shit that woulda been a fun Gaslight Song?"
Anyone who ordered the Tiger Eye orange one receive their pre order yet? Mine still hasn’t come and I’ve heard nothing lol
Damn yeah, same. I got that email and said I still wanted it but nothing since. I might not be doing too many preorders since I could walk into a local record store day of and get it haha
