It's out in Oz and first listen was really enjoyable. I Live In The Room Above Her stood out melodically. I can't wait to dive in more. One thing about the production is that the melodies and intricacies (and even lyrics somewhat) seem to take a few listens to hit. I like the singles more every listen.
Oh, we’re ranking albums? Want a hot take? T59S hasn’t aged well at all from a production standpoint. Fair number of songs I skip these days
I’m just trying to find a better life for me and my own, just some rest for these tired working fingers
I've had to pick my least favorite song on The '59 Sound for two podcasts, and 1) I cannot remember which song I chose either time, and 2) know I felt bad about whatever I chose on both occasions. I think it was either "Film Noir" or "Casanova Baby," and I love both of those songs!
Ok fine. Well here’s another take you will all hate. If I had a GUN to my head and had to pick one I think it might be (ducks) HIGH LONESOME
Here’s another take. If you count Once Upon A Time as part of the album (I do) - that song is nowhere near the “worst” on the album either
And for my 3rd and final controversial take - the best part of the album is the last 5 songs Cowgirls Meet Me Here’s Looking Backseats Once Upon
