I think the 59 Sound mix is perfect,l. It's clean and allows room for everything to breathe. Surely people aren't equating the vocal production with the overall sound??
I need to stockholm syndrome myself into liking this production between now and October but this is by far the most interesting and exciting song of the three. Will be an absolute banger live
I know it was mentioned a few weeks ago but there was another post on Reddit about the production on Positive Charge being cleaned up. Like 20 different people agreeing that it sounds better. I listened to it and I think it does sound a little better? Idk what to believe lol
I didn’t post here when that discussion happened but honestly both songs sounded a little cleaner to me too lol
I'm not hearing any difference, I think it might just be one of those "mind playing tricks on you" situations (not any of you specifically -- I also listened again after hearing those talks pop up and thought Hmm..maybe... for a second) That would be like an unprecedented level of weird though: the vinyls have already been pressed so that would basically mean the band heard the complaints, decided to go back and remaster the songs, and is now releasing two different versions of their comeback album at the same time. There's no way IMO
Yeah if the records have been pressed you’re probably right. Do we know that they have though? It’s not uncommon lately for vinyl to ship months after album release.
It's also entirely possible that a lower quality version of the song was accidentally uploaded initially, and then replaced. If that did happen at all. I haven't checked to see if I hear a difference.
They should keep tinkering with the mix Life of Pablo style. They can't stop until they reach Chorus.fm consensus.
This song rules. Has the singer from PUP on it and I feel like you can really tell the influence they’ve taken from that band on this one. Also, I think it’s the catchiest one yet.
Yeah I think I’m at the point where the production doesn’t bug me anymore lol. This song fucking rips.
i dont think the songs were changed at all, i think people just read something on reddit and want to believe they hear a change. this is a good and fun song.
The more I think about Positive Charge and History books being remixed, I don't think they could just "hotswap" the tracks on Apple Music/Spotify without it messing with APIs and notification systems, etc. Does that make sense? I think our ears are playing tricks on us.
