Oh that's rad. I normally don't care about meeting celebrities, but TGA is so woven into my life, it would just be weird, even if understandable, if I caught him on a bad day or said the wrong thing and it was just a weird experience. I'd rather just not lol. I have a bunch of friends who ran into Seth Rollins during a wrestle mania afterparty and he was apparently a wicked asshole and it just kinda soured them on it and I'm like...I'm good lol
FWIW when I met him it was literally a week before Gaslight announced their hiatus so there was definitely a vibe of being a little burnt out, but he was still very polite. That said, the show they played that night was one of my favorite sets I’ve seen from them.
I love Seth Rollins as a wrestler/personality but something about him does give me the impression that he’s a prick IRL
Normally I'm pretty on board with wrestlers being assholes to fans who approach them, because of some of the unhinged nonsense fans will do, but it's super lame to be at a Wrestlemania Party sponsored by WWE and be a dick. Like, you are in fact on the clock at that point. It's not the airport at 4am.
Yeah I am too tbh because wrestling super fans are a little nutty to begin with, especially towards female wrestlers.
I met Brian once outside the Vic in 2010 before their show and he was super cool and nice and put up with my nervous rambling
Brian is an incredibly nice and warmhearted person. Have nothing but positive things to say about him
I was excited for this tour, but the prices are just awful. 160 for 2 lawn tickets. Guess I’ll see Gaslight on the next solo tour.
Same. Cheapest ticket at my venue is $110. GA Pit is $220. No thanks. Lol $1134 to watch CC set from side stage. Not even a M&G or any autographed items. INSANE.
odd I saw $41 total for Jones Beach yesterday section200. Can't commit to that date but will hopefully buy closer to the day of show.
might just post up at jones beach all day and listen to this one rather than go in and see it. everyone i know who goes to JB these days for shows tells nightmare stories afterwards lol
It's a cool pairing and CC loves to bring out the opener to do encores with them so chances of Brian or more likely all of TGA playing a song or two with CC are very high
Been doing a discog run recently and man is this the first time Get Hurt has really clicked for me. I mean I’ve always loved some tracks from that album like Have Mercy but wow.
Dark Places is one of my favorite TGA songs. It’s never been my favorite of their albums but I enjoy it
I have sung Get Hurt's praises far and wide, it's peak for me, and is where I return to TGA's catalogue most often. I really hope if we do get another Gaslight record its got a little more of GH's DNA in it than History Books did.
I’ve always seen Dark Places as the spiritual successor of The Backseats, but lyrically/thematically its polar opposite. Backseats being youthful and excited for the future, and Dark Places is the realization that once you got to that future-state with whomever you took the journey with, everything sucks and both parties are desperately trying to hold something together that’s long been over. Every time I hear the instrumental to Dark Places, I feel so good then I listen to the lyrics and I’m wrecked.
The only Get Hurt songs I never got on board with are Stray Paper and Red Violins. Everything else hits though, and I think it may be their best sounding album production wise. The drum, guitar and bass tones are all excellent, and its mixed incredibly well.
Get hurt has some gems and i think it no longer being the album that killed them has definitely helped my appreciation of it
