see you at the buffalo date my friend. (for real tho we need to actually meet up and have a drink at one of these 100s of shows we both are at)
I've heard Raining only twice and I already love it so very deeply. To me, thematically, it feels like a less dramatic and more mature, wiser, older bro to Wolfman, maybe. Or it reminds me of "when she asks me why they call me Brian instead of Steven." It is such a lovely step forward that encompasses all of the things we love about The Front Bottoms. and it is going to be stuck in my head for the rest of my life.
I love this band so much. First time I saw them was opening for Motion City right after Go came out, and it's the most fun I ever had during a set where I didn't know any of the band's song. Just listened to the new song and it sounds great. I can't wait to hear the whole album. I like hearing the acoustic guitar front and center again. And wow two nights in Chicago, both at pretty large venues (about 1,000 cap each night). Those bastards must know if they come here twice, I'll go twice.
They are way bigger than 1000 cap venues at this point. They sold 2200 last time they played here two year ago and they've only gotten bigger
yeah they're playing the same 2k cap venue as they did two years ago and that sold out a month and a half ahead of time
Going to have to buy Cleveland and Detroit tickets because I don't know when I'm traveling for work in October.. Same with Citizen
That fucking synth part is going to be stuck in my head the entire rest of the day. This sounds like what I wanted BoT too sound.
Also kinda weird I thought bassist and other lead guitarist became official members when Back on Top came out.
Playing San Francisco while I'm visiting for a conference from the UK. I got lucky for the same conference last year when The Hotelier were playing too. Nice!
Wait seriously? Where have I been? The last time they headlined in Chicago I think they did like 500-700 cap room? Granted it did sell out immediately. I guess the next time I saw them was about a 2000 cap, but it was the Rave in Milwaukee which I feel like a lot of bands get away with playing even if they wouldn't normally do rooms that big, so I didn't think much of it. Well hey either way I'm not going to complain. I was supposed to see Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile one of these nights, but I think seeing TFB on a Friday night sounds preferable.
First time I saw them was opening for BTMI in a bowling alley, they were the local opener. It was about 6 months before that tour with Mansions I think, right before s/t came out. Also VERY hyped for this LP!!
first time i saw them it was the two of them playing at maxwell's in hoboken on that mansions tour. brian wore a wedding dress haha
Well, a state of calm has returned to me - @polyfilla got our tickets for NYC, so I now no longer have to wonder when I'm gonna see them again (and hope they do Champagne Jam)!
I fell head over heels with them after Doom Loop and only got to see them once opening for La Dispute. I really hope they come back
Not as good as Dig Up The Dead for sure but still a great record! I think I just finally got into them when that record dropped
