I sort of love this more than any thing they’ve done in a while. back on top was alright and I wasn’t really into going grey. but just the sound and style of this whole album I am here for. favorites off the bat of the new ones are jerk and love at first sight.
I'm glad they brought back their quirkiness beacause it's something I felt Going Grey was lacking. I don't like it as much as Back On Top but I'm sure it'll grow on me with repeated listens because it's definetly their most dense release yet.
I love EVERY track except Jerk. And I honestly don’t know why I don’t like it. Maybe I’m just being a jerk about it
I think my top 3 at the moment might be Camouflage, Jerk, and The Truth. But it's so hard because every single so is good. Leaf Pile is floating around there too
They ditched the poppier vibes of Going Grey and released their most cohesive work. Going to be a great fall album.
leaf pile is like the front bottoms nearly turning into built to spill this album is fucking incredible. they outdid back on top
oh man i just remembered they quote built to spill on back on top ("when my mind is uncertain my body decides!"). promise fulfilled
I've decided Camouflage is about kombucha: Sour but I think I like it Fruit from the profane communion Who knew I would even try it? Now I wear camouflage to blend in People pretending to like it...
The little flourishes really make this album. Stuff like the slight vocoder effect at the end of Love at First Sight. It’s so dense and I can’t wait to spend so much time with it.
This is great, a tad too long though. I didn't love the last 3 songs but maybe I will after another listen or two they seem like growers
I actually get a ton of Built to Spill vibes from The Hard Way. I think my favorite track is still Montgomery Forever. Everything Blooms feels like a weird opener, but I'm still here for it. Favorite tracks besides the singles so far: The Hard Way, Jerk, The Truth and Bus Beat
