    Keep on moving. Busy street.

On my first listen I thought bus beat was the weakest track but I've been singing "I do it like that because that's the way my baby likes it" in my head ever since.

I’d say I can’t believe how good this is but I can because of how consistently they deliver. I love this front to back. There’s so many amazing bridges and little moments. It really does feel like a combination of everything they do the best.

I love when he comes in on the verse early on the truth.

This record is almost too fantastic and cohesive to believe it's written this late into their career. It hits harder, and it might be my favorite.

Can’t believe next year is 10 years since the self titled honestly. Feels like yesterday.

Wow. I remember being in high school and literally nobody else I knew listened. I went to college and immediately bonded with 2 kids on my floor who listened to them. They were my obvious best friends in college!

I remember seeing them in a bar with no more than like 50 people. So happy they’ve blown up!

Similar to this, Fairbanks Alaska has been around since the BOT days too. You can hear a very early demo of it at around 6:40 in the Summer Shandy video. The video is also about the band taking a trip to Fairbanks Alaska lol.

Felt the exact same way. I actually wanted to skip it at first because it had started to annoy me and now I look forward to it with each listen.

I at once find the chorus of Bus Beat grating, and also really catchy. I just cannot decide.

Bus Beat is just really goofy in the dumbest but most excellent way. Couple that with the really earnest bridge and it absolutely captures my attention.

also, the production choices are absolutely on point throughout the entire song.

This album rules so much. Every song has been stuck in my head at some point. It might end up my AOTY.

Also, Brian is definitely married (still).

Interview: The Front Bottoms Are Growing for the Better - The Alternative

Brian says that in the year that the band took off from touring, he and Mat had done a lot of growing up—Brian got married, which in part inspired the title of the album. He says that In Sickness & In Flames was meant to be a play on the idea of the “in sickness and in health” portion of traditional wedding vows. He went on to say that, “You know, last year I had emergency surgery on my appendix, which is where the in sickness part came from. Mat and I also had a separate experience with a property that we were very close with, and had worked very close with, caught on fire, and that’s where the in flames part came from. So that was the energy going into this record.”

I was just discussing what Montgomery might be with my roommate last night so it's cool to have the story behind that now

I wonder if this was recorded at Sonic Ranch since they mentioned El Paso. They're in good company if so. Also, this definitely has some Mike Sapone fingerprints in the best way.
