Being on FBR for a second album, was the process different from Back on Top, and if so, how?

 

Has the hugely positive reception of Back On Top from fans created any extra pressure on Going Grey?

And I think as they shook up their sound a little for Back On Top, how does Going Grey compare, is it more of the same but perhaps refined, or is it another change of musical landscape.

 

I have a question similar to both of these about how Back on Top almost felt like the beginning of a new era for the band (possibly because of the label switch) and what kind of things they learned making that album that contributed to Going Grey

 

What's their preferred cheese on grilled cheese sandwiches?

Not gonna lie, I honestly feel like Brian knows how to make an A+ grilled cheese.

 

What's the story behind missing the Missoula, MT show last fall?

 

Does he ever feel limited in his writing by power chords, or is that secondary to the narratives he's telling anyway? Does he think what he feels comfortable singing is ever influenced by whether or not his parents will hear?

 

New song "Vacation Town" is out there.

 

I always wonder about that hahaha

 

"Vacation Town" reminds me of "The Plan (Fuck Jobs)" and it's actually one of my least favorites if that helps indicate the quality of the album

 

They're announcing a UK Tour tomorrow.

Hah, it's happening over the phone in about half an hour. I think I'm mostly nervous because it was kind of a quick notice thing, but you guys helped me throw together some really good questions

except I definitely said "Raindrops" instead of "Raining" because I was nervous and now I feel like a fucking idiot

 

this is directly inspired by his weed songs, im always thinking my parents would kick my ass if i wrote one of those and they heard it.

can we talk about how the live version of fuck jobs before the album came out where brian was singing in his higher register is really one of the greatest things this band has done and shouldve been on the album like that? i think that version is still floating around tumblr somewhere haha

 

New song is good! Like "Raining" a lot more so far.
