the only song i dont like is "Everybody But You" so far. But thats to be expected, as every album of theirs has one song I can't stand.
This is a wonderful record. I'm not sure if this surpasses any of their previous ones for me yet, but I could see myself enjoying this more than Back on Top eventually. Early favourites are Peace Sign, Trampoline and Grand Finale. This band makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside, more than a lot of others. Just plain happy these guys exist.
This is okay. I don't love it as much as their previous releases but they're all growers. Raining is still my favorite. Don't Fill Up On Chips a close second. I don't like Peace Sign very much
Really like Don't Fill Up on Chips, not many songs (Raining and Vacation Town aside) stood out on first listen, but I enjoyed it all well enough. I suspect it'll grow on me a lot like every one of their other releases has.
I wasn’t expecting Holy Fuck to sound like it does but I think I really like it. I love Don’t Fill Up on Chips this band makes me so happy.
surprised at people liking "Grand Finale" but not "Historic Cemetery," i kinda connected those two pretty early on (and love both tracks) "Trampoline" and "Far Drive" though, seriously so much fun
Just finished my first listen. On the whole it’s really different from their earlier stuff but the direction makes sense. I get why they released Raining and Vacation Town as the two singles. Ocean is one of their stronger closers. I think I like this a lot but I’ll need more listens.
Really enjoy this album, but I still think Back On Top is a lot better. I’m gonna be spinning this a lot for the next few months. I’m so glad they release new music pretty regularly Also, I love Historic Cemetery, one of the highlights of BoT
Highlights are Bae, Vacation Town, Grand Finale, Everyone But You, and Ocean. I guess? Wasn't a very good first listen.
I'm mostly a fan of their debut and some earlier stuff. TotH had a couple classic TFB songs on, but wasnt my jam. BoT they seemed to get even more poppy and kind of lost me. I never went back to BoT after initially listening to it those first 15-20 times or so, I dont even remember a song from it actually. This! I think(?) I'm back in though. I'm not sure what it is specifically yet, only 2 listens in. But something about this I'm latching onto more so than their last. I think it might be the lyrics...not sure. Bae sounds so much like that YMAEWK song.
(starting third listen.....) Peace sign, middle finger! ahaha. This band. Not sure how I feel about tracks 2 & 3, but they're pretty aight. edit- Oh, this album loops back into itself perfectly from the last track into the first. edit #2- I wish "Everyone but you" tried less hard. It's trying to be this huge sounding song production-wise. I wish it just went for a more bare-bones, striped down, quirky love song vibe. Then go back into the huge sounding stuff with "Ocean". I wish "Bae" did more with that riff......it has such energy and then the vocals come in and it's just....not hype haha. But that's probably because I'm thinking of the YMAEWK song. I think those are my only complaints about this thus far. Album is nice!
