Tie Dye Dragon has become one of my favorite songs this year, can't wait to hear how they retool the old songs on the EP.
what a strangely fitting combo. ya they can keep that Hobo Johnson guy but id love to catch this band live at some point
Really enjoyed this after not caring for Going Grey. Seems odd to tour behind the EP but also play Going Grey in full.
It has a lot of elements of the Going Grey sound but there’s a fair bit of the Back On Top sound thrown in there as well. It’s just so damn good.
Yeah I more meant the production style, Going Grey was at points too clean and sparkly for me, and the music itself felt a bit too tidy compared their other material.
i don't see that much of a production difference between the two albums, it's more songwriting than anything
Does anyone else get major Be Nice To Me vibes with Lonely Eyes? Almost sounds like the same song with different lyrics.
They're coming to Cleveland in a few weeks and TFB are one of my favorite bands (especially live) but I just saw them in October and really have no desire to see them play GG and/or either of the Grandma EPs front to back. The show in October, they essentially played GG full anyway (9 or 10 of the 11 songs were played). I should also add that tickets for the Cleveland date are way more expensive than the rest of the tour because the Cleveland date is part of a festival.
I felt this way initially, but hearing stripped down versions of some of the songs makes the production differences look huge. the songwriting felt v similar for the most part
Are you sure they're doing the full album performances at Spring Fling? Seems like that could end up being a more normal set, but idk
I assumed they'd do a more normal set due to it being a festival, but I'm fairly certain I saw some 'promoted' social media postings where they post about doing the GG/EP sets at Spring Fling.
