Nate’s voice sounded so strong in comparison to all their live recordings from the first genesis of the band.
Correction: He jested “I don’t know about a new album, we’re here to play the fucking hits.” Just saw a video. But I mean… they still played two new songs lol
It still feels absolutely surreal that I got to see them live. I had such an incredible time singing along to songs I had long ago accepted I would never get to see played in person. Hopefully the fact that they sold out a 13k venue shows them that people truly do love their band and they stick around for a little bit longer than just the three shows.
They both seem pretty guitar driven, I wonder if that's the general vibe of the new stuff or if there'll be some more orchestration and stuff like on Dog Problems.
As someone born in 1989 who was obsessed with this scene, this fall has been an absolute dream. Listening to new Motion City Soundtrack and The Starting Line records. Seeing the Format Tuesday night where they will be playing new music in addition to songs like ‘If Work Permits’. This all rules.
I honestly thought I’d never see Nate perform again so the fact they’re playing shows/ making new music feels surreal to me. seeing them Tuesday & I think this is the most excited I’ve been for a show in years
Nate mentioned that he learned “how to play a few chords” over the last several years. So I get the vibe he wants to shred a little for once.
Really debating on spending extra money to stay for the second New York show. Kinda think it’d be worth it
